The SS is lighter with more power and launch control and flat-foot shifting built-in, it challenges Evos for god's sake, Ralliarts aren't even in the same league.

Why? It's a purpose built track car, the interior is horrible and it lacks amenities.

What's a good set of tires to get for the RA? Without spending a crapload of money

The tires are not what makes the Ralliart slow, they explain the less than stellar handling. Launch control is great if you can A. engage it quickly and B. pay for the damage it does. People don't seem to understand how hard launching is on an AWD car. There is a reason why no one in their right mind does it very often.

Define performance tires. You can get "decent" tires for anywhere from 100$ to 300$ per tire depending on what you want.

Cause tires have nothing to do with the numbers the Ralliart put up in Car and Driver or Road and Track. Cant remember which magizine exactly.

Launch control would be great, but i think the car overall would benifet with better tires from the factory.

Handling numbers, yes the tires are a big deal but the beauty of AWD is that the tires do very little for the 0-60 or 1/4 mile times (other than all-out slicks but then you snap axles or destroy the transmission). Launch control is a very cool feature but it's not something to take lightly, it can and does destroy parts. Why do you think Nissan voids the warranty on the GTR if you use it?

And Mitsu voids the warranty on the MR if you use it? Don't think so. Where are you going with this? Last time i checked we have a different tranny then the GTR.

How many people hold up the GTR as "proof" that a TC-SST can handle high power? Wait till someone blows the MR transmission then talk, the car hasn't been out that long and it's not the motorsports beast that the GTR is. Considering there are already "issues" coming up, adding the extreme stress of launch control is unwise considering the very minor payoff. It doesn't matter what transmission you have, launch control is very hard on the car. If it's not hard on the transmission, it's hard on the diffs, if it's not hard on the diffs, it's hard on the axles. If you can't afford to replace things, don't play with it. The Ralliart doesn't need it anyways, unless you make a living street racing or absolutely have to be the king of the road (in which case you bought wrong car anyways), it's a waste.

GT-R launch control 0-60 in 3.3 secs!!!!

BUT

use it more than a few times, your looking at a hefty repair.
Why put launch control on a car, when you know it's damaging lol.

Whatta tease...

Because it sells cars and makes for great locker room chatter. It's the same as a 200 MPH top speed, 99.9% of owners will never use it but at a bar it's a great conversation piece.

It will beat the Ford Probe GT I tradded on it. (At least on paper). Testing at lower speeds and what left on the pedal between the two It seems plausible. (and a bit of gut instinct thown in the calcs)
