I kept up w/ some of my evo buddies including a stock evo X @ auto-X, I am completely stock still. I quit drag racing a few years ago, this ain't much of a drag car anyway. But the right driver in any car make a world of difference.

No, a lightly modded Ralliart won't take a Corvette unless you do a butt load of drugs first.

In a 1/4 mile, maybe but that's because the Corvette will spin at the beginning. In any other situation, the Corvette will absolutely kill a Ralliart. Hell, give the Corvette better tires and it's goodbye Ralliart.
Straight from CD:
Corvette Z51- 1/4 12.4, hardly a 13.5 .

those are all the vettes that run 13.5's

I did see some LS1 and LS2's running high 12's also.

so yes....the RA does stand a chance, I even raced one at the track that ran a 13.5

Come on, buddy.

Those are clearly terrible drivers. Hell with a bad enough driver, a base Civic can beat a Viper but that's a pretty silly race. A Corvette is a 12.X second car, not a mid 13 second car. If you're happy winning just because of a bad driver, by all means continue with the naive idea that a 237 HP Ralliart can beat a 400 HP Corvette.

When people say silly things, I do think correcting them is a suitable response on an online forum. I'm sorry if I'm not one of those people that can sit back and watch idiocy as it happens.

Those times come from average drivers.
Not all of us are pro/magazine drivers.
That being said..
Just because it is advertised as something in the hands of a pro, may give people a little bit of false security.

So in a pro's hand, it runs "X" time
but in an average driver's hands it runs "+X" time, meaning of course it will be slower.

This is real-world, every day life. 80% of the drivers are just average.
So it's a good chance more than half the time your just going to race an "avg" driver, unless your at some racing event.

Just because you bought the new Lebron James shoes, doesn't mean your going to jump like him.

So in a sense, this is not as "idiotic" as you may claim.

A 12 second 1/4 mile time should be possible for anyone with track experience. It might not be a 12.4, but it won't balloon to a 13.5. You're also missing the point. The Ralliart isn't "beating" a Corvette, the Ralliart driver is beating the Corvette driver and even that is debatable (an AWD automatic is a hell of a lot easier to launch than a RWD manual). It is idiotic because we're talking about a 30000$ souped up econobox (even Mitsubishi states this) vs. a lighter, higher HP, purpose built sports car. What's next, a Ralliart vs. Ferrari debate?
