duh! im surprised u even had to say this out loud.

i was at a dragrace event in Moscow, saw a Lada2101 with a turbo and NOS, whip a supercharged E36 M3, by like 4 car lengths... and then the Lada's engine exploded.

people seem to have a real problem differentiating between repeatable, reliable every-day performance, and one single 1/4 run.

btw, this is what that Lada looked like --

but back On-topic, RA is a nice addition to Mitsu lineup! just dont expect anything more from it, other than what it really is - a bargain performance sedan! thats my .02
.

Theoretical bench racing FTL. Personal attacks FTMFL.

My 2 cents: other than in a straight line, the RA has a LONG way to go before it can match a base C6. If the C6 has the Z51 suspension setup, sorry, game over. The RA has considerably less power, is heavier and has a much higher CG, is less aerodynamic, has larger drivetrain losses, an inferior suspension setup, less room for tire, smaller brakes... with a $23k budget, matching the power, upgrading brakes, suspension, sticky tires, and maybe a few weight reduction parts... and you're still a ways away.

Enjoy the fact that you have a pretty quick car for $25k and stop worrying about $50k cars with near supercar performance.

Move on, I beat a stock vette with a flash. at the track, sucky driver or not, I got the way better launch.

13.5 vs 13.7

not my fault the vette's so powerful it spins.

anyone else mind sharing more
RA's vs the world?

edit: I do NOT expect to win at all when racing them, if I do, im just fortunate.

Bingo, the RA is a really nice car, with a set of good tires, good brakes and a stage 2 setup it can be a ****ing quick daily driver but a Corvette is a completely different car. Hell, the Corvette regularly wins car of the year awards and is considered a poor man's supercar.

exactly why i stopped coming onto this damn site. Bunch of know it all's that act like they know the first thing about every car they DON'T own. I call em Magazine Jockey's. They read some specs, and act like they've driven the car, read some posts, and think they know the level at which everyone drives. See someone's age, and suddenly they are a father figure giving "advice" on which car to buy. Argue every point with what they think are facts, and have over 10,000 posts, where only a few hundred ever said anything useful.

yep you got me, guess all the people I helped don't matter. I never knew that comparing 1/4 times stated by people on this very forum wasn't the right way to figure out whether two cars are competitive in the 1/4 mile.

yes, getting serious for a second, its very possible for a stock vette, c5 (1997-2004), or even c6 (2005+), to run a 13.7.... it happens!

u think that makes your RA a superior performance car ??
