something that someone pointed out to me a few months ago is that the the Ralliart is sort of a poor man's Evo which is ok because it's a great car... likewise the WRX is the same with the STI, but the WRX apparently is much more on the same platform as the STI than the Ralliart is with the Evo... how they meant that exactly i'm not sure, but I suppose it means much less would have to be changed to get that particular car. Like I said before though... i'd go for the WRX even now, but it just doesn't have that X handling.

Others also make the case that the Ralliart can be tuned and made just as fast which is probably close, but it's not likely going to run a 13.4 with just an tune and even if it does, a good tuner will cost 250-500 MORE dollars.. you tune the WRX and you have that much more power over the Ralliart yet again so that argument is stupid.

Are you looking to mod? Just one thing I think about is if both cars are modded, the RA tranny is much more likely to break.. much harder/costlier to fix by anyone, and Mitsu will NOT warranty it.

If the WRX tranny goes on the other hand, I dunno about warranty but it will be much easier to get fixed

Either way, I trust a strong manual better, and Subaru better overall as a company as well
Look up MRT grudge match either on here or on Youtube. I'm pretty sure in the video the driver comments that the TC-SST didn't feel right which is something I've heard before from another publication/reviewer, I just can't remember which one.

I agree completely, I suspect that the Evo X will stop faster than both though.

I'm sure you can get a better deal than 25k....that's what I paid for mine, NEW. No nav, though.

In my experience it has been harder to get a loan for a used car. When i bought my Ralliart my first pick was a 2002 eclipse GT convertible. They wouldn't approve me for the 13k for that car but they would for a 19k new Ralliart.

I don't know, i'm simply going by numbers i've seen on some of the road tests... the WRX can stop a bit faster but ONLY because of less weight.

Even then, only in the 60 MPH test. If it was done from 80 MPH, I think the Brembos would win.

OP, don't listen to any of these guys... LOL most of them here giving you advice haven't even test driven a Ralliart or a TC-SST Evo. All they do is just point out numbers from publications and videos. You HAVE to try it for yourself, either you will love it or hate it. It's especially easier for you to adjust to the feel of it since you are used to driving manuals.

I got my X from Serramonte Mitsu (Bay Area), they are now a used car only dealer... and no longer sells new Mitsus. They were clearing out their Evos, so I got an insane deal on one that time. They had one RA left, but they weren't giving it away, so the X was what I took home.

Why don't you call SAM from Southcoast? They are the biggest Mitsu dealer, not just in california, but the whole country. Anaheim also has great pricing, they'll compete for your business... I say go to whoever can give you the best deal. Like I said, if you can qualify for 0% APR, go with a 2010. If not, get a 2009 for that $2K cash back and clearance pricing, if you try hard enough, I'd imagine you can knock off a total of $5-6K off a new 09. I don't know if you can get that kind of deals with a WRX, but only one way to find out.

That is actually untrue. Both the WRX and the RA are VERY different than their respective "big brothers." Both would cost more than the difference in price just to approach the STi or EVO's overall performance.

If all you care about is straight-line performance, then, technically, the WRX is far superior to all of the other cars mentioned, including the STi and EVO. Both the WRX and the RA can be tuned to match the driver's style and intentions; however, in terms of straight-line, the WRX does have the edge. Everything else is much closer.
