Considering a 2010 Ralliart or 2010 WRX
Crap. I didn't want to get sucked back into this, but at least it is still civil and on point.
Amby: My other point about the track/road/autox racing is that, unless you are a pro with a manual, the WRX might not be the better option. The TC-SST is going to be a faster transmission for the average person. Either way, the point has been argued back and forth too many times already, so I'll just default to what we have both been saying: Test drive them both and buy whichever one you like best.
As for the financing: Being upside down shouldn't be too bad. I was upside down almost $5,000 on my WRX, and with a $2,000 down payment, they were willing to roll the rest into a 0% APR loan. Having bad credit, on the other hand, will negatively affect financing.
I would also suggest that you avoid leasing if at all possible.

No it applies to the RA's as well. My friend sold a sportback version to a lady with the 0% apr 48 months. But ur right it applies to tier 1 credit.
I have credit issues too and i got $0 down and 6.9% for 72. I'm lookin to refinance soon though. Looking at your negative equity i would say see if u can squeeze $9.5K for trade and put $2000 down. A tleast u won't be in an insane position. I use to sell cars and i've seen worse.

ok for the 0% it has to be a 2010 so no chance for the savings by getting a 2009 ralliart. If you want the SST get the ralliart, if u want MT dont get a WRX get a 2008 Evo GSR just look around to find one. I sell them here in UT we have 1 left I'm sure CA must have some at some dealership. I used to sell Subaru's and they are nowhere close to the handling of either an Evo or a ralliart. the )% is only 36 so the payment would be pretty hefty.

That waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what i got. From what i can see, the credit isn't the real issue its the negative equity. The bank might not want to finance that much but Mitsu credit has eased up a bit lately.
Either way, I trust a strong manual better, and Subaru better overall as a company as well
About 2 years ago I was in collections for 180 days on 5 accounts which have all been settled and paid.
710-720 is probably the minimum for a 48 month 0% APR loan. I had 711 at the time I got my 48 month loan. 720 was the minimum for the 60 month 0% APR, but that doesn't look like it is available anymore.
Say you got an awesome deal on a Ralliart, with upside down trade in and a $1,500 down payment. If your dad is able to cosign and help you qualify for a 0% APR loan @ 48 months, you'd probably be looking at, bare minimum, $600 + per month car payments.
It sounds like that is a little more than you would be willing to pay. Of course, if you went with the WRX, you'd probably have to get a longer term loan (60 months most likely), and even with a reasonable APR (say 6%), you're car payments would still be in the high $500s.
Why, exactly, are you so eager to trade in your SRT-4? I hate to say this, but you might be better off just waiting a little while. Your SRT-4 won't depreciate too much more in the next year, you can possibly save up a larger down payment, your credit score should improve, and hopefully, you won't be as upside down. Also, I have a feeling that some of the car deals will only improve in the next few months. It's good that you're doing your research now, but I would suggest seeing where you stand in six months.

The car isn't made for everyday driving. I currently walk to work and will be moving and have to commute so the SRT-4 is a no go. At the time I didn't want to pay $515 for the Mustang when I walk to work.
Yeah, I want to see that clip again too. I don't remember the part about the TC-SST shifting at the wrong points. If anything, that runs contrary to all the comments I've read by good drivers who lauded the TC-SST's shift points when running in sport mode.
I wouldn't suggest either a WRX or an RA as a commuter car. I would suggest either continuing to drive your SRT-4 or getting a throw away car that gets decent mileage (Corolla, Civic, etc.). You won't save money with the WRX or RA, and it seems kind of wasteful to me. Just my opinion.
Man you should not be looking to buy anything. You're just screwing yourself over going into a new car that far upside down on the Neon. Just keep it, de-mod it so it's more drivable if you have to but you're going to end up paying way to much. Hell you already have for that Neon and you're just digging yourself in deeper.
yes it is, and i'll bet it's better than the RA at higher speeds too... if it stops faster from 60, then it likely will stop faster from higher speeds as well... I don't have proof, but it seems it would be common sense, neither of them are Brembo brakes will won't fade as quickly, as as I said, the Suby is lighter as well which always helps.
The SRT 4 would cost to much to downgrade it. Like I said money isn't the issue. I save my money and can afford the monthly payment and not put a dent in my finances. My credit issues were when I was on college and hasn't been a problem for 2 years. I simply want a everyday car with power.
