For some reason can't link to evoxforums discussion on gst vs ur pill.

I would say they are the SAME reading from these posts. All 3 should be based on the same concept.
They are based on the same concept. However, the ID of the pill might be different. I'm pretty sure changing the orifice size in the restricter will affect some settings, this is why you can't run a stock pill map with the boost pill installed. I would make sure the ID

I would make sure the ID of the pills are are the same or very similar, but just to support GST and Bryans efforts I would go with the GST pill!

Thanks! I wouldn't have found it otherwise...

I think most people on this forum want to support Bryan, and by extension GST. Unfortunately, GST's own practices when it comes to delivering parts and providing proper customer service, have put a ding in the company's reputation. I personally spent several weeks emailing and calling GST in order to get my pill. Now, to be fair, I have heard they have spent considerable effort improving their processes. Hopefully RGRA, you get your pill promptly. Please keep us advised.

Hi Bryan.

Can I please get some specific info from you regarding your ideal boost-curve targets, for the 93oct boost pill base maps? The very first page of this GST Basemap thread notes:

For our upgraded boost pill, the boost targets are 20-21psi peak, tapering down to 15psi.

Two simple questions...

1. That's for 93oct, right?
2. At what point should it start its taper to 15psi? Around 5000rpm? 5500rpm?

I just want to make sure my setup is dialled in properly, now that I've finally dived into the BWGDC and BTEL tables. After a bit of initial angst, I reckon I'm getting to grips with ECU boost control now.

In a side observation (related to the previous posts), I use the AMS boost pill (the GST online ordering system kind of fell apart on me). It's possible the AMS pill internal diameter is ever-so-slightly larger than the GST one used by Bryan to dial in his maps' boost control - my car was hitting 23.5psi on the GST base maps instead of the stated 20-21psi.

The angel on my shoulder is quietly happy I'm reworking boost curves to hit a sensible and mature 21psi.

The devil on my other shoulder, however, is whispering, "Relax guy, it'll be FINE. 23psi was fun! HEAPS of people run WAY more boost and have NO PROBLEMS! It's a tough Evo X engine and you're totally wasting it at 21psi...".

...I'm not listening, I'm not listening...

I've been consistently hitting 25 psi on the AMS pill. Wish I had noticed the GST one initially to support Bryan's hard work.

Yea it will usually taper pretty hard 5000 +

23 peak is fine on even 91 oct .

I actually need to update the first page as the V2 maps where set for slightly higher boost then V1

As far as the pill hole size, if it's a larger size then it will actually run *less* boost.

Keep in mind your RA is not 100% stock. That boost increase sounds about normal for an aftermarket BOV and filter.

I will say I'm not upset about it. I have no problem with the devil saying "Relax guy, it'll be FINE."

Shame though, no track time tonight due to it being closed for being too wet. I wanted to get some times for the first page of this thread running the basemaps on a 2011.

Damn, now the boost devil's whispering, "See, Bryan agrees with me, noob"!

Uh, yeah, I meant "smaller". Ahem.

So if I want to hit and hold a consistent 21psi (instead of say 23psi), I could probably see that stretched out a bit to 5500rpm...?

Apologies if this is taking the "GST Basemap" thread slightly off-topic!

Wooooo that's a relief, I have been noticing this too between 2nd and 3rd. Feels like it goes straight from 1st to 3rd. Was really freaking me out knowing I have less than 6k on the car. But yea same problem on the 2011 boostpill flash. What exactly is going on? Is it just a delay on when it does release the clutch?

Just a quick update. Since my last post and resetting the ECU, I have not gotten the cold start CEL. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow and weather in the teens tuesday so that will be a good test.

Hi Bryan.

In your GST tune, did you modify the Reactive Solenoid Max Total Upward WGDC Correction vs TPS table?

I'm just trying to pin down that particular table - my ROM def had the wrong address for it. So if your change looks like the following, I've probably found it!

From this...

To this...?

My ROM ID is 53610010. I found the above table reference on Golden's site, 53600010. The def is:

Code:
<table name="Reactive Solenoid Max Total Upward WGDC Correction vs TPS" category="Turbo" address="58d12" type="2D" scaling="OffsetWGDC">
<table name="TPS" address="6265a" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="Throttle %"/>
</table>

I went looking for this because I couldn't work out why my upward error correction was never kicking in during spool-up... and after initial peak.

If I'm on the right track here, I might just re-instate the Max Total Upward WGDC Correction, and then tweak the load-based tables to try and get closer to what I want.
