Incredible job on this. Hats off to you, these is really a big step forward. It helps anyone doing clutches as well with the learn-in.

Ideally, anyone changing fluid to SSP Gold or Pentosin should probably run the learn-in as well

I don't know if this is going to help anyone else but me but here is some fun information that I gathered.

It drives me crazy when trying to read logs and I can't tell what gear the vehicle is in except for using RPM/MPH to figure out gear ratio's when the TC-SST should be able to tell me. So we spent a few hours over some good beers to bring you these results. Hopefully it will help you.

In EvoScan the following items can be setup for logging

CAN 29-0 (Selector position/directly correlates to display)
3 = Normal
2 = Sport
1 = S-Sport

CAN 30-0 (Manual Mode Selector/slap shifter)
1 = Manual
0 = Automatic

CAN 31-0 (Gear Position Sensor)
80 = Park
82 = Reverse
78 = Neutral
129 = Automatic 1st
130 = Automatic 2nd
131 = Automatic 3rd
132 = Automatic 4th
133 = Automatic 5th
134 = Automatic 6th
49 = Manual Mode 1st
50 = Manual Mode 2nd
51 = Manual Mode 3rd
52 = Manual Mode 4th
53 = Manual Mode 5th
54 = Manual Mode 6th

I'll keep sorting information but this should help for those who are tuning SST's in the future. It helps to know what gear/mode you were in during logging.

8631B151.cff file uploaded to MUT-III successfully. 2014 USDM Ralliart flashed successfully. S-Sport activation upon holding SST switch for 5 whole seconds.

Shifts so much better and more realistic. I can actually find redline, hit torque pulls, and feel the car move! Thanks vaq and the rest of the community for poking and prodding at all of this!

Note: maybe only I have this error.. S-sport mode on my car does not shift while in automatic and MUST be driven in manual mode. Any switch to automatic mode results in an auto switch to D2 gear... Not good when going 40+ mph haha.

S-Sport is designed in manual to shift really high. It's too weird and I only do manual.

Auto SuperSport is definitely not for daily driving. Even on the track it's not really suited to our small turbos. Manual S/s on the other hand.....

Vaqusis - awesome work on the Can gear logging - always something I've wanted to be able to do, rather than an RPM/KPH calculation guess

Is it possible to enable S-sport while driving?

I am not a code writer but seeing as we have access to the file, can we change it or is the flash just sort of an unlock code and the real programming is on the SST?

It is possible. The variable that defines the wait time can be changed but with all things there is a reason that Getrag wanted a wait time at a full stop. It could be that the increase of pressure caused a fork lock or the sudden increase of rpm causes your engine to blow. Someday we will test it. That is however a ways off. We are still trying to understand the encryption and variable tables. How does it communicate with the ecu? Why does it fight over the pressure increase? Why does less pressure cause "slip" during a shift?

I actually just ran into the issue trying to activate super sport mode while driving. Car shifted into super sport and then into sport and then normal mode by itself and now won't go back into either sport or super sport haha. Uh oh..

Actually the same thing happened to a busy of mine that I flashed. We simply stopped, turned the car off and then back on and all was ok.

Nice work vas. Looking forward to your discovery on the Rev hunt solving and the necessity of a teach in.

Put about 20,000 km on my 2009 with s sport. Still running great. Still have the Rev hunt. Still beating vettes off the line.

I'll be watching this thread for now. Back to lurking I go

Another successful s-sport flash

Launch control works just fine

drove about 3000kms thru the rocky mountains in s-sport, and another couple thousand in the city with only catching a little bit of rev hunt when driving too slow in 6th

All smiles and no issues here

When you guys are all saying rev hunting are you in a gear with a constant amount of throttle? Are you saying the engine is revving up and down while sitting? I am trying to figure out if this is for LC and S/S is for me. Does it only do this hunting while in the S/S mode? It would seem to me this hunting is actually clutch slippage. I can't risk clutch slippage on my wife's daily driver. She has always been on board with any modifications I do to her car so long as it stays reliable. I just got rid of her 2006 4EAT WRX with full STI+ conversion, she was sad to see that go.

Almost had a heart attack installing this.

During my 1st attempt the progress bar stopped @ 48%.
Turned the ignition off,cleared DTCs, and tried again.

2nd attempt stopped @ 18%.
Turned the ignition off and cleared DTCs

I rechecked to makes sure that files were in the correct folder.
I saw 2 files that I thought might have been disrupting the install.
\DiagDB\CBF
-GENERIC_AT_dio30.cbf
-GENERIC_ENG_AT_010001_dio30cbf
They were there from the initial install of PassThru CAN.

I don't know if they were affecting anything, but I removed them from the folder,

3rd attempt got to 51% and my computer made the bing noise when you plug in a USB device.
I removed the USB cord and plugged it into a different USB port.
Turned the ignition off and cleared DTCs

4th attempt went smooth a ice and I now have S-Sport.
