Yeah, I'd take it out and try again. It's next to impossible to realign the tabs on the bottom of the box with the filter in.
When you have the filter out. You'll see where they need to line up and you can slide the left half of the box around slightly to find the groove to slip in. Once it's seated properly, push down on the top of the box halves while prying apart so they don't separate again. Then slip the filter back in and give it another go.

I heard a *pop* sound on the back of the airbox, closed it and then test drove my car. Still does the same thing (rush of air= a little loud/Psshhh is louder than stock). What do you think? this really sucks man hahaha i should've just left it alone.

I've owned an 09 GTS and now a 11 RA, both suck when installing a drop-in air filter because, as 03-chi said, aligning the bottom tabs is a pain. I know it sucks but redo the process to get that warm fuzzy that it was done right.
Bottom tabs? i thought it was located on the back of the airbox. *confused* Here's an example of what i hear, got it from youtube.
K&N Filter
In 0:12 seconds you guys will hear the rush of air then loud pshh.

Yeah, you're still off. I still had my airbox in the garage so I snapped a couple pics with it out of the car to show exactly what tabs I'm talking about since it seems quite a few people have trouble with this. I'll get them uploaded here in a bit.
UPDATE:
Turns out my air filter box wasn't seated right on the bottom. Now my car makes this *tick...tick...crock..tick...tick...crock...(crock in the background) i guess too much air going in the intake is bad for the engine. Drop in filter is a no-go people, it is impossible to align the tabs. Bummer
Any input guys?

I just installed my K & N last week and so far so good I think. I have very little car/mechanical experience as well..I just pushed it filter in and it seated very well in there tight and couldnt move it around then the metal clips snapped right over it securing it. I checked as much as I could with a flashlight and happened to see any misalignment or anything.
Atleast I think it's in there good, I don't here any noise while driving until I hit boost and then you can here some air suction noise. I didn't notice any major changes but, it seems to have a little better throttle response and acceleration after the install.

Just did this today.. what a pain in the A$$!
Anyway I bought an AFE Power Oil-less Reusable Air Filter and snapped some shots.

I also unbolted the metal bracket up top as it made it easier taking out and dropping in the new filter.

The difference from stock on left, AFE on the right.

Also just installed the HKS drop in...definitely can hear the the subtle sounds under the right circumstances....Say for example windows down and hitting/releasing throttle @ certain rpms will def hear the slight woosh/bov, very slightly that is...like previously mentioned definitely not a overly loud mod but definitely adds a little fun. When I installed the the HKS filter, I barely needed to really overly open the stock airbox so muscling it out and dropping the new one in the bottom troublesome clips didnt cause me an issue....
****... from the sounds of your video at 0:08-0:09 and 0:22 I have the same problem. I can't get that damned thing in there. First time install I thought I heard the bottom pop and click into place so I though that extra noise (although a bit suspiciously) was just from the increased airflow. I've been driving like this for probably 1000-1500km's now. In dusty Edmonton.... NOT good :S.
UPDATE
For those with K&N Filter, this is what it should NOT look like:

THOSE ARE WHAT IT SHOULD NOT LOOK LIKE.
THIS IS PROPERLY FITTED:

Like stated before, if you can move the bottom part of the filter housing with your fingers left or right, it's done WRONG.
It will not move a millimetre.
Hope this helps for K&N Drop in filter people.
BTW, I still can here a slightly amplified woosh or pshhh noise when accelerating hard around 3-4000RPM, but it is greatly reduced. Then again it could be because I've ruined my intake with 2000kms of alberta dust....

. 2011 RA airbox is a little tricky to maneuver cause its too tight.
