RFI: Battery Relocation Fuse Position

So I successfully completed a battery relocation, but i'm not quite satisfied with the location of the main fuse. What have those of you that have relocated the bat to the trunk done with this? Right now mine's sort of "hanging" under my X intake...

The fuse must be close to the battery to be the most effective (i.e. sense and open the circuit in case of a short in the battery cable). All the POS bat cable between the battery and the fuse is 'unprotected'. badbadbadbadbad....

Wait, your fuse is in the engine compartment but the battery is in the trunk? You need the fuse to be withing 18" (I never go more than 6" ) from the battery.

The main cable from trunk to engine compartment is protected by a DC circuit breaker ATM. What I'm asking about is relocating the factory fuse located under the red plastic cover...

The distribution block thingy?

Check out the myriad Evo X engine bay images around for ideas. IIRC, theirs is positioned near/off the upper ECU fitment bracket, doesn't it?
