I've gone ahead and tweaked what I viewed as logical things on my tune, including following the original post here (though the tuner had done 95% of it beforehand).
Anyone willing to take a gander at a few maps for me, and see where/what I'm missing? Still having a lot of grinding when I start it, especially when it's warm. I can give details of everything in a PM or somesuch.

Yes, I use the rpm vs start tables all the time. Opening the idle valve(similar to pushing the throttle slightly) helps start up time. Using the Crank initial pulse table will also solve a lot of the cold start issues i see people post about.
What I was referring to is the amount of time the AEM ECU takes to sync the 8tooth count(2 physical teeth counting each edge, twice per cycle) and turning ON the parameter "Stat Sync". No amount of ECU tuning will make this a faster process. What you'll notice if you monitor the Stat Sync Parameter during cranking is the ecu takes about 3 seconds of cranking time before the Stat Sync will turn to ON, giving the slow AEM EVO start. (The lower the battery voltage the more noticable this is) By increasing the tooth count to 24 (12tooth wheel) which the GEMS/AEM15 ecus are designed around, this delay isn't there.

Triggerdisc's 12 tooth is $100.00 plus shipping.

One thing to keep in mind is that with either of these the balance shaft MUST be removed as these aftermarket ones are flat and "does not provide the balance shaft belt with aligning support like the factory disc does".

So I am new to this tuning stuff. I went to change these settings, but couldnt find them as stated in the original post. I searched around and found the 'sync early' box and checked it off. I also found the Tooth Time min and changed it to 500ms. Suprisingly enough the car started rather well. The only thing I noticed is the idle sounded kind of funny? It could very well be just me but it definitely did help cold start up. With these setting changes will there be any effect on my tune or will these settings only affect startup. Thank you for the help.

map performance tuned my version 1 e85 car and im having trouble with starting it after its been driven and warmed up and then shut off. if i let it sit for a half hour or more it seems fine but if i try and fire it shortly after it was shut off it will not start, it cranks and cranks and wont fire. do you think changing these settings will help my situation? i dont wanna mess with their settings but i cant trust the car to start unless i have time to wait it out. any help would be great. ive read this thread and wonder if it applies to my situation.

Start Extra vs Temp
Initial Crank Pulse
Warm Up enrichment
Those are the tables that need to be adjusted to get the warm fire working better.

Without having your cal infront or me no way to tell for sure what the problem is. The link has a copy of my mods and cal, you can look through. I get awesome cold/warm/hot starts on e85. I am also running the trigger disc.
