AEM EMS Problems? What are there?

Iam curious on what exactly people are having, problem wise.
Ive heard of people loosing their tune with the AEM EMS. Or it just plain ol not starting up? (Not necessarily the cold start problem, but just plain ol EMS not wanting to start up.)
I know that some of them come very faulty from the manufacture, and if thats the case, it usually is a right away deal that its not working correctly, and can just get a new one.
I will be having someone very experienced tune it.. Jason Sieblas.. one of the guys who actually designed it, will be tuning it. So it will not be someone who will be clueless.

If hes one of the guys that helped design it why are you asking us these questions?

You should be asking him.

I have had mine for over three years now, first in my 03 EVO and now in my 05 EVO (same EMS moved from one car to another) with no problems hardware wise. Many of the problems with the base tune (starting issues, tachometer jumpy, etc) have been resolved by users experimenting over time and giving the solutions to other users via forums like this one.

If you have JS available to tune it, I wouldn't care what the problems are. I'd already have it done by the time it took to make this thread.

You had a problem with the O2 sensor? Mine functions perfectly, what issues have you had?

i recently purchased my second evo, '03 used
it has AEM EMS on it already with a turboback exhaust as all i can tell from exterior
My problem is it putts out when it hits around 6k rpm when i floor it. (1st 2nd and 3rd gears)
If i take it half throttle it will go beyond without "putting"
Seems almost like a limiter.
I have a dyno sheet that came with the car from Turbotrix showing 310whp.

I'm a noob please help

A little off topic but..
IMO it seems like you might be hitting a boost or fuel cut. From what I could gather from your post, your car seems to be shuddering or like jacking on the brakes when you go full throttle. This could also be due to a boost spike--Has the ambient temperature changed recently? How is your boost controlled?

Also--If you plan on future "big" upgrades then the AEM EMS will be fine. But as listed in your Sig doesn't seem like enough for an AEM EMS, a ECU flash seems like it would be enough.
