I'm not sure on the class but the rally car info I saw were using some larger turbo's GT30's. I'm not up on my rally rules but are all classes restricted to some small intake restriction or are there more open classes.

I'm eastern European, my liver doubles up as a sump pump......where's that absinthe

WRC cars use a tiny IHI VF15 in custom configuration, and they are stoopid expensive. Lowering IAT is all the rage in the WRC, primarily to the use of that small turbo (and its 34mm air restrictor).

Lemans guys are the same way. I managed to speak with one of the developers of the Penske Porsche SPyder LMP2 car and a Prodrive WRC engine developer. Both reasoned that running antilag eleminated the benefit of a twinscroll. The twinscroll in fact hurt VE's and scavenging affects at higher rpm, past choke flow. That is of course completely understandable and easily forseen. Both of them said that they were more focused as you said on IAT and making peak power before hitting choke flow. So they made the most of off corner torque/turbine response via antilag. Too bad LeMans doesn't let you run water injection like WRC oh, and IIRC the prodrive team was seeing 3.5 bar by 3400 rpm thanks to there anti-lag system.
They are race motors that don't need to last forever...nor do the $10-15k custom turbines they run.
But that's another discussion with Cam at Honeywell/Garrett.

It's cool martin, I'm a northern european, so my stomach doubles as a sump pump too

Just as an example of twinscroll setups, Indy cars than them until they had to go NA.

Geoff - How about one short post by providing a dyno sheet with your new set-ups on a evo motor or send one to AMS for testing.

I'll even pay for shippping....

Wow.... Geoff, I know that must have took some serious time to type.. lol!!

So now if tuning is recommended that alone tells me that HP and TQ #'s are going to be different even if the same kid of turbo is used...... hmmm.... Looks like I'm going TS!
