Before and After

Top two Runs

Here are my scanned Dyno Sheets.

Here are the current mods:
- megan racing 02 housing
- megan racing downpipe
- perrin high flow cat
- greddy ti-c competition catback
- hallman pro mbc
- walbro 255 fuel pump
- chevron 94 pump
- Exedy Stage one clutch kit with Stock flywheel
- other - AEM Boost, UEGO and Oil Pressure Gauges
- everything else is stock

I'd like to thank the NorthWest Evo community, especially to Yahu for giving me a hand with the exhaust and cat install, Arsenal Motorsports for accomodating a last minute appointment, Drift Office for making sure that the Evo isnt going anywhere and to English Racing for the Tune.

Also, I'd like to thank the following for my parts: sdbears, CVR Motorsports and Maperformance!

PS: With an unknown tune from the previous owner, I turned the mbc all the way down to the lowest psi possible after installation. Then Lucas gave it a turn, max boost was 27psi then turn it down to more conservative 23psi.
here are my numbers...

Wow, that's really good numbers for only a TBE and tune. very nice for 23psi too.
Couple of my STi's friends and myself will probably be at the dyno day Gotta install my TBE by then haha.

^ thanks for the offer!
My undertray is off permanently from when I did my fluids haha. Too much work to keep taking it off each time.

Also, its hard to compare with a mustang dyno as well.

Hello from Bangkok, Thailand guys!

the car scene is pretty booming here lol. although for some reason i have not seen a lancer above 2002 yet.

it would seem that everyone and their granma has Brembo calipers here on their rusted Civic, quite amazing really. until i inspected one closely and that underneath the caliper there is another caliper....stock, and rusted. i investigated further and found that EVERY car that has brembos are just fake slip-ons that is glued to the stock calipers LOL. i love fake asian markets.

Josel, glad to see the LICP got there, overall i dont think there would be a HP boost, but peak TQ at earlier RPM range due to less bends in the pipe. Also very nice numbers! i definately will get myself an O2 Housing when i get back to Canada next month. How was the install, it looks like an afternoon's worth of work from what i've read on the forums.

hey vince. thanks for shipping the licp. i got it superfast. i owe you money now. haha ill send you a pm after this...

i had a shop here in seattle install the 02 housing. i know theres a diy but you are right. its a lot of work. i heard that if its your first time doing it, it will take you 8-10 for the install. i recommend paying someone to do it for you.. but thats just me. hehehe

that same time, i had them weld my uego wideband sensor on the dp + dp install.

enjoy your vacation there man!

yeah 80$ an hour for labour is just BS. i rather curse and swear through an install than pay big bucks.

ive done 3 turbo swaps on the suby in my driveway, so O2 should be cake lol.

i see that Josel went with Megan O2 housing, which one does everyone have? Megan seems to be best bang for the buck if you dont want an O2 dump.

also does anyone have the Megan Test pipe? i was thinking of purchasing the test pipe and the O2 housing at the same time, i finally caved on the test pipe, the car was too quiet lol. although i find it strange that it has a low frequency drone at 4000rpm onwards with a works Highflow cat, works Resonated intermediate pipe, and a works muffler. its a very deep muffled exhaust sound which is probably why it resonates so much.

im gonna get some sound deadening mat for the trunk lid also, i think thats another major cause of the drone since the trunk weights like 4lbs and is thin as hell

I've heard so many bad reviews from them.

edit: Oh, nevermind, if its just dyno thats fine, i thought it was for tuning haha my bad
Well, instead of hearsay about a local shop I'll chime in and actually speak from experience.

The guys at racing greed are definitely knowledgeable, and skilled when it comes to tuning. A close friend of mine has a daily driven e2 eclipse that put down 420whp on their dyno, it's a monster and it's reliable.

On his reference I went to RG with my Evo X MR. The car baselined at 173 on their dyno due to a mess up from my dealership. Fixed a couple boost lines and it was up to 190whp 190wtq. After tuning, meth installation, exhaust, and intake I'm now making a very comfortable 304whp and 285 wtq on their dyno. That's a 60% increase in whp and 50% increase in wtq. Give me a baseline of 250 whp on a dynojet and that makes 400whp.

Yes they charge by the hour, but so does every other shop. Yes, I'm sure they've made mistakes, just like every other shop. In my specific case they've been very helpful, open with what they're doing, and their work gets an A+. Heck, my exhaust was out of alignment by less than 1/4" and they called me to come in and inspect it before they finished bolting it all up.

Forums can turn into a really bad spot for many a shop. Just don't want to see it happen to a good place. We don't have many good tuning shops up here, would be a shame if a good one got a bad name due to some hear say crap.

If anyone's interested in what my car actually did with a VERY complete write up PM me and I'll link you to a thread elsewhere.

My final thoughts on RG - good place, honest staff, good mechanics, good tuning, low reading dyno that will make you cry.

i may give them a chance if they can guarantee me the same power output as English Racing, and at a competitive price.

because ER will get me the power i want, at a flat rate. I wont want to dick around and pay more than i need to get the same power.

plus if they **** up my tune, i can stalk them since they are almost local to me :P
