ICBC is covering the cost of repair under hit and run policy, gotta pay my deductible. fighting with Target to release the security video so i can get my deductible back. ICBC doesnt even want to investigate this lol, rather funny.

Was on Highway 99 by the Westminster exit ramp going north about a month ago and saw a crash to the side of the road. Every car involved was an Evo or a current gen Ralliart. Anyone in that crash? Everyone ok?

So I'm about to order parts for 60k service and was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where to get the work done locally. I don't have anywhere to do it all myself so need a shop that isn't likely to mess it up. So if you have any ideas please chime in.

I get all mechanical work done at RacingGreed and have been very satisfied with the quality of their work and professionalism. I've been taking the car their for the past 2 years. Their rate is either $90 or $95/hr I believe and they have extensive experience with the 4G63. There's a track evo IX in their shop and they are constantly tuning DSMs, Evo VIII,IX and Xs.

I know other owners sound quite satisfied with a lot of work at the Speed Syndicate. I have never taken my vehicle there personally so I don't have any input.

I'm at 53k and will also be doing my 60k service there too. On a side note did you buy the bracket to fix the noise on cold start up? 1091A133 Bracket Cylinder Block

Honestly this is the first time I've heard mention of this bracket. And that thread is way too long to read through...however now if I'm doing 60k it would seem foolish not to. Just gotta find where to buy it from. As for the parts I'll be ordering from rock auto as they really do have the best prices. But I don't see that bracket. Blast.

I believe mitsubishiparts.net should have it. They have good prices plus they are in WA so that gives you some affordable shipping options. It's definitely a good idea to do the bracket with the 60k service. Yours is a IX right? This is specific to the evo IX. Have you ever noticed the noise on cold start ups. I notice it more so when the car is left outside and started cold.

I'm biased to The Speed Syndicate to help you with your 60k service because I have an affiliation there. We've dealt with the 4g63 motor quite a lot over the time as well. Shop rate is relatively the same as RG as R.Mutt posted. We've got a nice lounge and is relatively central to the GVRD area also. If I had to take my car to another shop if TSS wasn't around it would be RG. It just happens TSS are close friends of mine and is 10 mins from my house.

Holy crap, that bracket ain't cheap! Any links to alternatives? Is the Mopar version the same thing? 100$ cheaper than Mitsu.
Aside from that, any suggestions for other work that may as well be done during 60k? Exhaust? Wideband, map or any other sensor installs?
I kinda wanna start some power/handling mods now that the car is paid off so am looking at what makes sense to do while it's getting ripped into anyway.

I'm not aware of any alternatives but you could always post in the forum to find out.

I'd say do your wideband for sure you can start logging/tuning. As far as mods - all depends on what you're using the car for (dd or weekend toy?), as well as your budget and power goals.

If it were me and on a budget I'd do ETS v2 lower intercooler piping, full 3" TBE....tuning it yourself is free

So...

I have my tactrix cable, MAP sensor is installed and running and my wideband (got a good deal on a lc-2) just showed up in the mail today. Who's got a welder to put in a bung?

Mostly though, I'm wondering if anyone has TephraV7 dialed in and wouldn't mind a quick crash course one of these days? My car is is stock apart from the MAP sensor. I really want to learn to dial in a tune before I start messing with power parts. Help making sense of all the data is what I'm after. I've kinda started a little, just enough to get the MAP working and car running.

That said, we should all hook up again! There is a new guy on the boards from here in town who is driving a V I believe. Don't we all want to see it!?!
