for one you can reflash back to stock with COBB before taking it to the dealer for any warrenty issues.

Does the COBB AP have a road dyno function? Did you make this chart with it?

So you couldn't just swap out the modified ECU for a stock one? Just curious.

Anyone familiar with the performance differences between the Vishnu and Cobb units? I see many different flashes for the Cobb, but where does Vishnu fall in comparison to these?

With the Cobb AP you can flash or re-flash your ECU in about one minute flat and that includes the time to plug it in and unplug it. Super convenient and easy. They have an array of maps for GSRs, MRs, Octane ratings and stages from stock to S2. Plus you can read and reset OBD error codes. And if you don't want the thing anymore you can flash back to stock and sell it.

Shiv Patel of Vishnu has a reputation as a good tuner. On my Evo 8 I had run their Exede for 5 years with no problem whatsoever. They have quieted down significantly on the Evos since they apparently now make a ton of money doing BMWs. Shiv used to be on this board a lot... advising and arguing with Buschur, Al and others. At the end of the day, active support and a big installed base of tunes count for a lot and Vishnu is not as popular as the Cobb AP on the Evo 10's.

I'm very happy with my Cobb AP.

The AP does read boost in a beta firmware release that is currently available. The monitor is called Rel. Pressure, although we are considering renaming the monitor to "Boost" for the main release.

Thanks,

The AP does have a road dyno function which outputs a file that can be pulled off and plotted/analyzed on your computer. The image that Evolved X posted is linked from our cobbtuning.com site.

So the AP that people are buying is only using a beta software? When is the main release? Also I read that the rel. pressure function has glitches in how it reads the boost pressure, is that fixed yet?

No Sir, we have a full on release that is available with the AP and has been for some time. From time to time we release updates in a beta (anyone can use if they so desire) form when we have completed testing to our satisfaction on new features and or bug fixes. Once the Beta customers are happy, we release an update for all users.

My previous post must have been misleading. I was trying to explain that the current beta update has a fix for the boost monitor for those that would like to try the beta firmware.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers,
