Cobb AP: ?s on product, features, and various maps incl Perrin maps go here [merge]
As I have an Accessport and the COBB SF filter I looked and noticed they only have a stage 2+SF map and no stage 1+SF. I ran the SF+Stage one for a little bit and without a A/F wideband I got scared and took it off. I got a little more knock then with stock. I had little or no knock with just the stage 1 and no SF.
I called COBB today and asked about it. Turns out they havent got a car with Stage1+SF hence they have no map. I was told it would be out when they get their hands on a car that has that exact setup. Same reason they would have Stage 2+SF (requires boost control system changes and TB exhaust).
So ive taken it off till I get to a town that has a dyno and tuner.

Our results were consistently decent mileage. Before any flash we sometimes we would get 24 mpg. After econ mode it happened a little more consistently. We can easily get 24-25 mpg. Ive gotten as high as 28 mpg for a days average on the way from tennessee to va. Really depends im sure on what rpms you are running.
whos running Turbotrix piping kit with COBB stage 2?
I was told by COBB that I need a specific map for my Turbotrix Intake since they only support AEM, COBB Intake forgot the other one. No EVO tuner around my area "SUCKS"

And called Turbotrix tuners wont be back till next week or so...just my luck huh..lol
MAF would be have a different reading with my TT intake and my car would lean out so much if I dont get it tuned..and it wont run well..
Whos out here using T.T intake with COBB stage 2?
Anyone?

Ya, thats cars display. Which was a question ive been meaning to ask. Im guessing its not all that accurate? Seems like it wouldnt be hard for the car to figure that one out. But I guess id better do a dummy check.
yea it's not accurate. I can manage to "average" over 20 mpg every trip until i refill and when i do the math at the pump it comes out to like 19.33 (best mpg i've gotten doing distance/fill up). And this is with the car's mpg calculator spitting out 22-23 mpg for most trips.
got cobb ap .. possible to get perrin maps?
i read on one of the threads here that you can get 1 free perrin map even if you bought the ap from cobb?
i'd love to try out the cobb 91 octane stage 1.. if it can be gotten for free even better!!
if i buy from perrin.. is it per map? i could only find map packs?? on their site.. i didn't see any custom maps or descriptions..
any pointers would be great thanks

you won't get it for free from anybody on here. plus they have the original user's info written into the file so they know where it came from.
call perrin and ask them for the map. they will email it to you for a price. the map was free if you ordered the AP from perrin.

i know i can order from perrin.. im saying somebody on here in a thread that i can no longer find said you can try a perrin map even if you got your ap from cobb.. as in.. perrin will give you a free map just because you have an ap.. just to try out
There's a lot more to power than just peak horsepower and torque. I played with this map today - see my thread here:

Very true, some people often overlook that.
i only know if you buy the AP from Perrin they give you a map free. i never heard about a perrin map from cobb. but all the Cobb maps come pre-installed already on the AP regardless of who you purchase it from.
I currently have a COBB AP w/ stage 1 Perrin map. My question is if I were to go to a tuner that uses ECUFLASH, would the new map overwrite my cobb map? And would I be able to use my AP to change the ECUFLASH map back to stock map? Or would I need a tactrix cable to take out the custom tuned map and put a stock one in?
A few clarifications on maps. The COBB off the shelf maps are free to everyone to download from our website. The maps that other tuners or manufacturers offer for the AP must be sourced from those tuners or manufacturers. We do not have any control over these maps.
As far as being able to interchange ECUFLASH and AccessPORT maps, no, this is not possible. Either flash will overwrite the other. In addition, if you were to reflash an ECU that was married to your AP, that wouldcause issues. In short, overwriting ROM the AP flashed on would delete the AP from your ECU. The AP would then be useless as it is married to an ECU that has the AP protocols erased. So your AP would be useless. Unless you first unmarried your AP, but then it would not be installed on your car and again, would not be able to be used on the car.
You can have your car ProTuned using the AccessPORT, there is no need to install yet another type of engine management.

cobb does not have a link to it yet on their map page.. travis from cobb said it's probably cuz the web guys missed the link..
i found it by adding ACN in front of the 91.. hopefully they'll fix the link soon
