one measuring the pressure in the manifold (after the turbo but before the cylinders) that is the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP), and one sensing just the pressure of the air in the atmosphere (Barometric Absolute Pressure (BAP)). The relative pressure is the difference between these = MAP - BAP.

Relative Pressure = MAP - BAP

I'm no tuner so I'll let other chime in. The way I see it, the relative is showing you what pressure the turbo is contributing (MAP - BAP). So, to know how "well" your turbo is working, I'd check relative (hence what most guages read).

MAP (Absolute) actually shows you what your engine is seeing, so this is what really determines performance (along with temp, etc.).

Actually, either can work since the atm pressure (BAP) hardly changes at all -- it hovers around 14.7 psi. A two inch change in mercury only equals about 1 psi, so even as the weather is changing, just subtract 14 psi and you're close (or simply remember "hey, my max MAP is usually 32 psi absolute").

Anyone compare the AccessPort

Don't anyone ever go to Dyno-Comp in Scottsdale AZ, they lie, cheat, and steal. ... The Accessport is an AWESOME product, with many capabilities, very advanced in what it can do and what it can ..... The Real RocknRolla

No. I have cobb AP with a cat back and I tried both works dropin filter and perrin dropin filter. To be honest, I felt like the works filter made the car act wierd before I even had the cobb ap installed. The reality with this car seems to be leave the air filter alone unless you are going for big power and have a custom tune to go with it. Especially NO cone filters! This is just my opinion from a little experience and alot of reading.

That is the one filter that cobb suggested I didn't go with when I called them. I don't know why. Maybe b/c of what you're talking about.

Question; when datalogging via the ap, which selection monitors afr? I'm sure which ever it is won't be all that accurate, but I was just wondering.

I think you will find with the cobb ap loaded up with stage 1 map. You wont want to muddle it with an intake. The map does well on its own. Get it tuned for a filter.

Our results were consistently decent mileage. Before any flash we sometimes we would get 24 mpg. After econ mode it happened a little more consistently. We can easily get 24-25 mpg. Ive gotten as high as 28 mpg for a days average on the way from tennessee to va. Really depends im sure on what rpms you are running.

Gotta use wideband for afr monitoring. COBB AP doesn't have sensor to monitor afr readings.

dude this thread is pointless.

why doesn't anybody read cobb's website or the map notes they are downloading and flashing. all these questions/mistakes have been made many times before and are well documented on this site.

AP reflash to stock question

The cobb access port reflashes back to stock, but it doesn't remove the access port from the ecu. Is this noticeable if a dealer was to check or manage my ecu? And im assuming if so this would void my warranty. Thanks guys.

If you want it back to stock, remove the AP ( unmarry it )

It's always a good idea to set it back to stock whenever visiting a dealer. They just might happen to reflash to a newer, stock map and destroy your AP installation.
