Anyone here that was tuned by COBB in plano TX?

I lived in Shreveport, LA and I have an Evo X with a drop in filter and Invidia CBE. I was thinking of going to COBB plano to get a tune. I need that bad since this car runs pig rich. I don't know of any tuners here in shreveport area that is reputable, and I don't think I'd trust a lot of local tuners. I heard a lot of good reviews from COBB tuning so I was wondering if anyone here can fill me in about COBB in Plano TX. BTW I'm just looking at stage 1 tune about 270-300whp that is my goal as far as power goes.

They managed to get 287 awhp and 297 awtq out of mine with only their SF intake and inlet pipe. Car ran great for almost a year. I am seeing a little knock up top recently but I doubt this has anything to do with the their tune. I was logging a few runs a month since I had it tuned there last Feb just to check on things and everything was great even in 102f summer days....until a month ago.

Id reccomend them to you.

Wow, that some good numbers I see is that a stage 1 tune? I feel like I need to go there tomorrow to see what I'll get from the tune. That knock is a bit bothersome though. I recently read a scary thread in here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ower-loss.html. Hey, thanks for the help man.

Cobb Plano is an excellent shop to get a tune. If you have an AccessPort or thinking of getting one, that's the place to go (they are very busy, you need to call a couple of weeks in advance).

Another great option is EvolutionDynamics, also here in the Dallas area, but I don't think they do AP tunes.

We are lucky to have two great choices in this area.

They used the off the shelf stage 1 as a starting point and made changes from there.
Best of luck with your car!

I know that the number of maps you can store on the AP is limited, but how limited is it?

thanks

Great thread, except the fact that every other post could be easily answered in the manual or on cobb's requirements for each stage! I'm excited to get mine installed and try it out. I'm completely stock right now, but plan to install stage 2 requirements all together at the same time once I gather all the parts. From the sound of things, I will be very satisfied with this product on an otherwise stock car for the time being!

just bought my COBB AP! I cant wait til its at my door, and just installed an injen intake/uicp the other day. gotta decide on a tbe and suspension along with some other misc. parts.

the car ran 13.491 @100.02mph with a 1.911 60 foot bone stock,
once this snow melts and the track opens up ill be on cloud nine.

ill keep you guys posted with time slips/ dyno charts once the cars running 200%

1 quick but sorta dumb question..
since this can be used to view live data, is there any way to display it onto my laptop live? thanks guys.

why i didnt buy an evo the day i got my licence is beyond me. Super impressed with the aftermarket parts available for these cars, its awesome.

evos ftw.

Yes. Folder "Limits Tables" -> Table "Engine RPM Limiter Stationary".

Default value for me is 5500, not a surprise.

Yes, you need to first submit a request to COBB for the ATR download. Once installed, you can perform logging / live tracing, etc. (one of several abilities)
