Is there any step by step video for the AccessPort installation on an evo x. I have searched a lot but didnt find any. There are lots of step by step installation videos but unfortunately none for the evo x. If any of you know of any such videos then the link will be highly appreciated.

Its not hard brother...if you have it already the instructions are really simple just read it once possible twice and you should be good.... Best of luck!

The install is basically the same as the Subarus, except that you don't have to plug in any test connectors. Just plug the AP in, turn the key to the ON position, and follow the menu options to load the map. Thanks!

Thanks guys. I didn't get mine yet but will do very soon. Unfortunately there are no parts or spares available for Evo's in Bangladesh so I basically have to go to Singapore or Malaysia and get it myself. But still looking forward to doing it in a month or so.

Pollok,

Remember that unless you have a North American Spec EVO X, the AP won't have any maps for you. You will have to have a tune made at a shop for you.

I had no idea about that Chris. Dont they have any tunes for Asian Spec Evo X ? I was counting on off the shelf maps from Cobb & Perrin as im not too keen on getting a custom tune. Can't I use those maps for my car ? Also what is the basic difference in the American Spec and the Asian spec ?

Pollock,

I'm sorry, there are maps available for the 2008 and 2009 International cars! For a long time there wasn't maps available for that car though. You can find the maps on COBBs website here: http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=3506

There aren't PERRIN maps available for your car though.

There are small differences in the ECU for emissions and other things to make the ECU different between the US and International cars.

Chris,
Thanks for the information. But my one is not 2008 or 2009 its a 2010 Evo X SST. Are there any maps available for the 2010 International models yet ?

It looks like COBB doesn't have maps for the 2010 EVO X. You will want to check with them directly to see if they can help you out with a map.

No probs and thanks for your input. You saved me from a whole lot of disappointment cuz I can't imagine flying to Singapore and buying the AP and then coming back and figuring out that it wont work in my car.

You will want to use a map made specifically for their intake, that's why there's so many different maps for different intakes. Maybe ETS has a map for their intake?
