Im not sure you if you are still looking for an answer but I just got an AP and loaded the 93 Stage 1 map for the Stock intake, I have the K&N Drop in but becuase this filter doesnt change the way the air is flowing (outside of potentially volume) through the maf it should be fine. Where as the other maps which are set up to run with different Air intakes in which the air flow characteristics can vary.
.. feel free to correct me if Im wrong *COBB

UPDATE***
I just spoke with Chris @ COBB and asked him about the K&N drop in with the stage 1 tune @ stock air intake system and he explained that it is possible that the K&N panel filter could lean the car out perhaps to much, what he reccomended was logging the fuel trim (both short and long) while doing some city and hwy driving, but not full throttle or full boost, then add the short and long trim values together and record this value. Do this with the Stage 1 stock intake map, as well as the Stage 1 HKS PF (panel filter) map and which ever fuel trim value (Short + Long) is closer to 0 is the map you should use.

If you have specific questions or are unsure of how to do this, I would reccomend speaking with Chris or someone at COBB, I am not trying to missinform anyone but that is what I got out of our conversation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just installed the COBB AP stage 1 and am very happy with how much smoother the car is a both part and full throttle, there are no more dips or flat spots that came in the car's stock tune..

This is the 2nd AP I have owned (different vehicles of course) and I have been very happy with both, as well as COBB's support and customer service A+

if one was to only update their UICP, would they need a new tune or would the maps on the AP suffice?

IC piping won't affect your tune.

The PERRIN Panel filter is still a little tight, but it fits fine. The UICP will be fine with any of our tunes.

You can find the latest version of Manager here: http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?id=3059
Nope - Works fine after update - Thanks

Is there a Cobb map or are they coming out with a map for something like a Grimmspeed 3-port?

You will need a pro-tune for that, the OTS maps are all built around the stock solenoids. If you aren't nearby to a tuner and are willing to make the tweaks yourself it shouldn't be too difficult if you really want to get a 3-port.

I just uninstalled my AP to start using ECUflash. NOw i have a service engine soon. Is it because i am on a stock tune with a AMS intake and the MAF is off due to no tune?

Most likely. Could also be your testpipe/HFC if you have one.

HFC's can sometimes trigger CEL's. You'll want to disable it within the ECU.

Anyone know if there is an alternative map that would work with the HKS Racing Suction Reloaded intake? From what I've read, there are some maps that work with different intakes that isn't supported by cobb as of yet.

Right now I'm currently running a Stage 2 93 octane map with the following mods with no issues

AMS turbo back exhaust with HFC
Tomei UICP

I want to install a HKS Racing Suction Reloaded intake into my car. I know you need a pro tune to get it working correctly and cobb currently doesn't support it yet. Since the evo is my DD car, I just want a map that works until my pro tune appointment.

Any advice on what works?

I can't recommend the HKS intake, their foam filter has been tested and shown to be very poor from both a flow and filtering perspective (unlike the Perrin foam). Look into something like the Cobb SF intake or the AFE Stage 2 intake.

Has there been any talk of Cobb releasing maps for the 2011 EVO X's?
