Camaro SS is not a slow car since it can run consistent low-mid 13's in stock form. As a matter of fact it will beat any non-supercharged Cobra nite and day. Its called torque. The DOHC 4.6 Cobra engine can't match the Chevy's 5.7 pushrod.

So is your car an 04 or 03? Sig says 04 where avatar text says 03.

And any pics of the slip yet?

I had a 03' Cobra before my EVO and I'll tell you that my EVO with all my mods don't compare to my stock Cobra. My best mph in the 1/8 is 85 mph with my EVO and my Cobra stock trapped almost 90 mph.

If I wanted a car to make ***** fast the EVO would not be the car being the amount of money to drop into it. For the same amount of money (or less) that Chris put in his EVO you could put twins or a single on a CObra and make close to 900-1000 hp.

Great, now I'm gonna have all the 11 second Cobras around here wanting to kick my silver ***!!! I ran high 12's with just TBE and Flash a year ago (I've since added a bunch o' crap), and even I'm not naive enough to know the majority of newer Cobras will be even with me (at worst) or beat me, especially if modded... Those cars modded, if anything, are underrated

It's not that we hate Evos or love Fords... it's just that we are realists, and don't consider one victory under dubious circumstances a justification for claiming that an entire line of cars sux...

You mean for a whole lot less?

HP TT kit is 7.5K...complete kit injectors, intercooler, pipes, BOV, downpipe, K-member, etc etc all you need to add is clutch, upgrade fuel pump, and at least a pumpkin brace if not level 2/5 shafts.

Even cheaper if you content with 135mph traps is a ported eaton with a 75-100 shot.

I regret buying my EVO whenever one of my buds runs a good time and I start getting depressed on how much coin it will cost to get my car even close or even close to my old best of 125mph trap. Then I drive it and realize it's so much more than a straight line car. The more autox and road racing I do the better it curbs that jealousy a little bit.

evo's are not meant for DRAG. But...Cobra's ARE. If you both raced at tsukuba circuit the evo would win in stock form because its meant for the curves. Cobras are flat out awesome and sound nice but what they lack for in all around performance such as curves they make up for in RAW power. The evo is made to be an all around type of car but it has nothing and will never have anything on the cobra in that dept.

Chris spent over 15 grand on his EVO on his first setup. The kit you listed above for the Cobra for $7500 is alot less in my book.

03-04 Cobra's weren't really intended for drag racing either being they have a IRS. They do good with them, but would do better with a live axle swap which many have done I'm sure. Depending on the course, a stock Cobra would have it's way with a EVO. If it's small the EVO has the advantage, but on the larger course the Cobra will make up the ground on the straights with its sheer power advantage.

Exactly Corey my point was you can make a cobra just as fast in a straightline for a whole lot less than a EVO.
