He may have shifted to 4th too early or too late, depending, but the only time we pick up less than 20mph in the back half is if we are knocking heavily or if there is a big boost leak. In stock form, I picked up 24mph, but nowadays I pick up 21-23 due to dying out on the top end without cams...
That's what I was thinking. All the EVO's I have raced that trapped 85 at the 1/8th were trapping 108+ at the 1/4 and they of course were not stock.

Are you kidding me? 14.1???? my freinds z28 ran a 13.4 stock on a regular tire. they are not slow cars. there must of been something wrong with that car.

Definitely a drivers game here. I'm not a big fan of the Cobra, but you can't knock it's performance. They all run 12's here stock. I raced one with just a supercharger swap and he went 11.2@122. Not one other mod, not even exhaust or filter.

As for the LS1. Please, I have one and hate driving it but it will outrun a stock evo. It traps here in Florida at 105-107 and the evos trap right around 98-100. I have raced my friends stock evo several times and pull him everytime. He goes 13.5 and the SS goes 13.2. These are stock for stock numbers.

SS's and Cobra's aren't my thing, but how in the World can you down talk something that turns those kinds of numbers. And just because someone saw one run 14's or whatever isn't a fair generalization. Last week I saw an evo run consistant 15's at Moroso. I guess all evo's are slow

People at ls1tech are probably getting pissed because people keep talking ****. I visit there everyday and for the most part they all really respect the evo. So maybe we should do the same.

Couldn't resist.

It was 108+mph with 82+mph in the 1/8th. It was obviously something powerful enough to pick up 26mph in the back-half, but even a stock one should be over 110mph, especially in this cold weather.

I don't know, nor care if you beat the guy, but, if you think that Cobras don't run anywhere but in the 13s, I've got a 12.8 on a bone stock convertible and a 12.1 on a lightly modded one. We have a few Evo owners on our board and they are cool as hell. We respect their cars, they respect ours.

You beat the driver .

The thread's in smack down

so your saying his car should have beat the cobra. cause b4 you said the only difference in ets was because of trap speeds. now you have shown he should have hit the same trap speed. so the difference is not just power is it? the drivetrain is part of the car, and awd puts it to the wheels better so beating a rwd car solely b/c of awd or rwd is still beating the car. i'm sure the cobra makes more power on a dyno, but drag racing is not just about power. don't get in a huff b/c you car has no traction like a stock rwd car.

as said b4 cobras are not over rated at all. they are extremely fast as advertised. they are faster then our cars. i bought her b/c it was the fastest awd car i could afford. if i wanted a drag king i would have gotten a cobra hands down.

and camaros suck, i spank them all day on the highway even starting at 80. same goes for srts and firehawks.
