Talk about the ultimate setup! A true 11 second daily, that flies WAY under the radar without a wing and basically as quiet as stock!

Great numbers.... any intentions of tweaking the stock catback (3" piping or works muffler treatment), or are you going to leave it alone? (Seems to be working great as is)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who prefers to keep the stock catback.

BTW, I posted some dyno charts and timeslips recently, comparing the stock exhaust to an open catback. The difference was ~25 whp, or 2.5mph at the traps.

Well my setup will be very similar to yours as well. Currently sitting in my trunk I have walbro 255fp, mbc, air filter and a test pipe. On the way I have a 3in downpipe, o2 housing, GSC 272 exhaust cam and lower intercooler pipe. I'm going to leave the stock cat-back as well but I'm putting in a manuel cut-out for racing duties. I want it to be quiet especially here in SoCal.

120's or bust!!!

yes I would have loved to do a cutout, maybe I will later though. Made some minor changes, back on the dyno made 335 whp and 420 ft lbs on Dougs Mustang Dyno. Going to the track tonight to see what it does. Dyno'd the stock catback removed and it only showed 7whp difference accross the board, but the boost spiked another 3psi higher... however at the same boost level at 7k still 7whp more

Here are my dyno plots for (DP+TP+stock CB) vs. (open DP).

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...0&page=2&pp=15

The difference is 16 whp (peak), not 24 whp as I previously mentioned.

Good job again. This car must be a blast to drive. I am going to copy this mod path as well and see what happens.

How much do stock evos put down on this dyno?

Thanks for the info... it seems like a solid ~10 lb*ft all over... i'm not sure how much that number would grow if you tuned to take advantage of it, but even if it was 20 lb*ft gain running open vs. the stock catback it's not worth it (to me) for a daily driven car. I am surprised that there isn't more torque gain at the top end as I would figure the increased flow would mean increased restriction with the stock catback.

FIMotorsports - keep us updated! this is good news for those who want to keep a low profile (or hate loud exhausts)

Was your open downpipe the same 3" or just the stock one? Your 8 may open up more than a 9 by dropping the catback. I believe the 9 muffler (with no flapper) flows better than an 8.
