My VIII cut easy low 1.6s on Hankook Icebears which is a pretty hard snow tire. I stuck auto x tires on it and it just spun to high 1.7s every time. I could never get it to hook at the track or on the street like it did with the snow tires.

I run my X on Dunlop Star Specs just because that is what I drive on and auto x with and I have had mixed results. Sometimes I bog, sometimes I spin, but I always have crappy 1.8 60s no matter what

I just found this thread, boy some of you guys have fast drag cars! I'm not a "drag racer" nor is my car the best choice (an X MR-T). The SST gearbox is not very launch friendly, a 1.97" 60' times is the best I can do but at least they are consistent. I find the local 1/8mi strip a great safe place to tune and have fun but I'm not going to impress anyone with 10" or 11" runs, but I'm having fun, what a great daily driver!

Taking it to the 1/8mi tonight, any guesses? What would be the best shift points in manual mode?

 

Ran a best of time of 7.75" land a best speed of 89.5mph in the 1/8 mi last night but not on the same run, having trouble with auto shift. Logs show I'm starting to exceed the SST torque limit table at 6600 in 1st. The only clean shifting run was the 89.5mph but I forgot to push all the right buttons for launch control to work so I did 2.3" 60' and a 8.02" et on that run, normally I can consistantly do a 1.75" 60' ft using LC.

I had fun and I'm pleased with the results, it shows I am making good power for the minimal mods on my daily driver.

 

Damn, son! Thought you were on a 35R with those numbers! Glad to see some E85 up there, but man, I better get back to the track. You have dyno #s on that beast? How much did you remove to get that weight?

 

Yea man, I actually want to try my snows out before I put summer tires back on. I was having trouble getting my 265/35 R1R's to grip at the track. The sidewall is just too stiff I think, eventhough the rubber is very soft.

I am hoping for better results with the snows. We'll see in a few weeks...

I went to track yesterday did my best time, 60ft, and mph. 40 psi in the tires and left in snow mode. Raced a honda civic si haha Enjoy
