launching with "slicks"
does anybody here run there evo with some kind of drag / slick tires such as the DOT approved Nittos or bf goodrich drag tires
i would imagine it being a good idea to pick up an aftermarket cutch since there would be alot of clutch slip due to the increased grip, or would that put a larger amount of stress on the tranny if you werent feathering the clutch as much since you could let it out faster..

but why use slicks? are your rear wheels spinning? the fronts?
I would just try some autocross tires. slicks are gonna make you bog like a ************ if you are not really privy on launching.

Unless you're putting down an insane amount of power, drag slick is really not necessary for an AWD car like the EVO8. Lowering your tire pressure slightly should really fix the problem for you, and that is, if you are putting down some serious power.

I remember seeing a red WRX in a magazine that uses BFG drag radials and it runs 10s or 9s. I think you can run drag radials, but remember to upgrade everything involved in putting the power down sufficiently because you're bound to break something if you don't modify intelligently.
