What times should I run????

Well I own a 2003 EVO. The mods are: K&N panel filter, ECU Reflash by Al, and a Hiper Catback Exhaust My previous run was made in the rain with a 220 pound passenger, when the car was basically stock. That run got me a 13.7 sec. 1/4 mile time with a 2.0 sec. 60' (I spun all 4's on that run). What times will I see with the mods? I will be running at California Speedway (Hopefully it won't rain). I'll post my times here next week.

Where you using a G-tech or something for that stock run?

Anyway, anywhere from a 13 flat to a 14 flat depending on how strong your car is and how good a driver you are.

Good luck,

Keith

Denom, I like the Gtech Pro also but I have done some experimentation at the track with it and I suggest you do the same. Usually when I screw up my launch really bad and then miss a shift(no expert) my car is capable of low 13s. At carlsbad two weeks ago GTECH read 13.9 but i actually ran a 13.3. Tried it again and only had a bad 60ft and ran 12.7-12.8 can't remember exactly but the Gtech had me at 13.3. My Gtech appears to be a Dyno dynamic(Shiv's Dyno) GTECH as it is a heartbreaker reading slower times than my car is capable of. I will be there on the 29th of May with my hands full with a deadly snake. Hope I can avoid the venomous bite. I say low 13s with a 1.8-1.9 60 ft. Expect a lot more spin at Cal Slipperyway than on the streets. Good luck and see you there.

Hey IE Evo good luck with the snake. I wouldn't worry too much about him if he is on the stock suspension, cause i've seen a 03 Cobra blow a halfshaft at the track. BTW my car is blue. I hope to see you there shortly. Hopefully everything will be in by then (Al should be able to ship out the CPU reflashed by Tuesday). I just hope to cut a 1.9 sec. 60', and I totally agree with you, Speedway sucks for traction, even in an AWD car. Mayhaps if the owners didn't put down that 150' of concrete people might grip.

Wrong Snake but all Snakes are pretty fast from my experience. It is the Viper kind of Snake. Grudge match from work. He bought it for 55 gs with 3000 miles on it and told me he was the new sheriff in town. Well he intiated the grudge so he will have to prove it at the track. His car is the shizzle and by beating him(if i can) I am in no way implying that just because I am lil faster in the 1320 my car is better. No Honda mentality here as I know his car is worth every penny. Should be fun and me and him are cool. This is all for fun and I have got to give him props for coming out and flexing his guns. The Corvette guy at work talked a lot of shizzzle and I had to really ride him to get him to the track. anyways see yiu there.

What year of Viper is it??? If it is one of the newer models good luck, you will need it. I've seen the 96-2002 Viper run a 12.7 sec. pass over there, so you'd have a chance against that. What mods do you have on your car?

I have Vishnu Stage 1+. It is a 2002 I believe. 450 hp and 490 ft/pnds. maybe it is a 2003. Hell I don't know but it should be fun win or lose. Funner if I win but life will go on if I lose.

Heh,

First, that was funny that your GTECH is like Shiv's dyno.

Second, that's cool about the Viper, you two should be fairly close if the Vipers run mid/high 12s there. My Dad has a Porsche C4s, which performs fairly close to my EVO. I think my EVO is faster, and my Dad is slowly starting to come to grips with it, but we both know his car is much nicer, lol.

As for the original post, go for low 13s high 12!

Take care,

FB

Well I couldn't make it down there due to Mitsubishi's awesome stock clutch 10K miles and it was so durable it slips like nuts now. Thank you Mitsubishi for this $30K car with this awesome clutch. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had planned to go to the track for months. Get your act together. People will fork over the extra $300 in asking price for a more durable clutch. Oh well, I still love the car.

You have a point, I wish Mitsubishi would start to sell the EVOs, with the JDM 6-Speeds, still I don't think the clutch is so bad, any clutch that takes the abuse that some owners place on it would have trouble. Still the JDM 6-Speed would be a good idea, I wonder how durable it is. I guess we will see with the MR edition. I wonder how the MR edition will do at the track with that 6-Speed? It's been tested at high 12s stock.
