Hmm Alcohol
i have the alky injection i would have to say no one knows like me or al till they have tried it and man do i love it to death this stuff made a extra 40whp and 50wtor on my car and the stuff does not run out that fast because we ran the dyno 4times played in the curves all the way home which was like 150miles from my house but this stuff does not come on till you want it too you can set the boost to 18 if you want but when i drive the evo around without racein i drive it normal and just stay out of the boost mine is set to come on at 10psi and if you never hit 10psi i sprays nothing so like al said the stuff lasts a while longer than what u think another way to be ready for the stuff to run out u can have a boost controller and cut ur boost down back to 21 or 20 plus have a super afc like me and have two files program in one fro 20psi on 93octane and file 2 for the 25psi 93octane with alcohol but as far as road racein goes u can change the setting for when you want it to come on and from what i heard the kit that al sells is suppose to do 13 1/4mile passes no problem with some left hell the stuff aint but 11.50 a gallon at lowes and im running a mail in flash with cams 3intb afc fm bc for those of you that would like to know what you would pick up with similar mods but i cant wait till i get a custom flash from al and u think i going to run 110 or 112 octane and burn out my o2sensors JUST MY 2CENTS WORTH
The reality is that the only guys complaining about the alcohol are the ones who are not using it yet.
Everyone who gets the alochol loves it to death
Its like having a 35 shot of NOS every time you hit the gas pedal
Blowoffsilver here has a god idea for potential road racers - get a electric boost controller and simply hit the low boost buttn and lower the bost to 20 psi when you see the low level indicator go on
I am 100% convinced the 1 gallon tank will last for a full tank of gas - BUT - its just my opinion at this juncture - yet to be proven

Ahh great AL. im considering this was just doing some research as usual. But the lowboost highboost function on EBC willl be sweet. So I can set what psi i want the alcohol injection to work right? i
Not complaining, just warning the guys you may be misleading at this point.
I was running methanol/water injection in my Evo over a year ago and when I asked you about it, your exact words were, "No way, bro, that $hit's bad for your motor".
Maybe you forgot when you didn't even know what it was?
What's water injection?
Like I said, I had a meth injection kit for over a year and there are a lot of variables to keep under control, which is why I'm warning the guys for road race use. I think that the best way to do it is to have it come on early (7psi) and spray progressively so as to prevent surging. To have the proper safeguards for road course use takes a little more money than just a ready to go kit.
The boost controller input is a great idea, but I would go lower than 20psi on an alcohol specific tune, especially considering you're advancing the timing more than you would on a pump gas tune.
1.5 gallons lasted me 13 minutes before the pump started sucking air at Mid Ohio, a longer road course than Lime Rock with a few nice straights. Watkins Glen and VIR are even better for that kind of testing.

I am telling you that I have a lot of use with it and it will last for a full tank of gas at the ratio my kit is spraying
If you were running more injection then its easy to understand why you ran out faster - however I do not have the details
According to Aquamist,
1.0mm flows .330 liters/min
.8mm flows .290 liters/min
.7mm flows .260 liters/min
The IC tank is approx. 6 liters. You do the math.
Good luck on that 30 min road race session Al.

Adding a tank full of alcohol, plumbing a hose up the the engine comaprtment and installing all the assocated wiring and mouting brakets will prove to be a most costly and complicated undertaking
Based upon my own personal measurements and observations, I would feel that the kit I sell will last for one full tank of gas with ease
In any event - once you see the red light come on - its time to make a quick pit stop and fill up the tank with some more alcohol

Now this I have to see. Have you ever had this car on a road course in it's current state of tune? Al, what do you know about the revision to the next batch of kits that are coming and when will they be here?

I wouldn't be using it for more power but as a cost savings (Boost=19psi). Race gas runs $5 a gallon. Full tank is $55
Pump 91 (Ca) is $2.00 a gallon. Full tank is $22. That's a $33 savings per tank. If it was 1 gallon per tank for the alcohol, then that would be a $22 savings per tank. Since I go through 2-3 tank fulls in a full day of track time that $44-66 savings per track event.
Now if it only lasts 30min on full boost, its a different story. Running out would be very bad news.

Customer service is still not good Al.
Your response to the question should be –
I do not know – It was not tested while road racing.
Please do not use it while road racing or use extreme caution doing it.
I will get back to you with the answer once such a test is performed.
I am planning on going to Limerack track sometime next month or so
To test the alcohol kit that I am selling. I will have your answer then.
Please do not tell us what you “THINK” Al.
You do not know if it will last.
We are risking our engines here
Just curious fellas, but I know race gas is good.... Alcohol is good.... what would be the benefit of running race gas and alcohol... hmmm? just a lil creative stupidity brewing upstairs I think, let me know what u guys think...
Al, since you are now an expert on Alcohol injection maybe you can give us the flow rate w/ your pump and nozzle. That way the customer can determine how long it will last. Kind of like what Aquamist does.

Both myself and David Buschur are selling these kits. In the past two years - i have taken on a total of 4 products to sell - I am not exactly jumping on every product i find to sell. The reason why I decided to sell this is beacuse its a good kit and the results are amazing.
The guy who makes them has been using them for over 10 years on turbo buicks without any problems. There has NOT been any big problems with people blwoing up Buicks on these kits - some cars have over 100,000 miles with these kits.
Judging by my own experience with the kit itself, with extensive dyno time and full throttle driving, the car burns very little alcohol and I see the tank lasting for at least a full tank of gas - AT THE LEAST.
As far as "risking our engines" - i don't know HOW I can make it more clear that IF you were driving on a road course - you NEED to keep an eye on the red low level indiactor light and yellow spray light. IF you see the red light come on or the yellow light go off - you SIMPLY SLOW DOWN, PIT and refill the tank with alcohol.
There is no risk to your engine unless you don't pay attention to the red light.
The way I understand the issue before us is HOW LONG you can go before the red light comes on.
I am giving my opinion based upon my observations with the unit.
I seriously doubt that anyone here is earning a living in road race competition to the extent that they can not pull over and re-fil the alcohol tank when the red low level indicator comes on. And - if you are - AND are going to be involved in a race where you CAN NOT PIT and refill - then you should think about not getting alcohol injection at all.
Agsin - the Evo apllication is new on these kits - the kits are not new. They have been used for years.
