AL, took my car to mitsu....
I threw this recall in the trash, I saw that it was a ploy to get my Evo in the dealer to look it over.....
I learned my lesson on my WRXs, you pay for modifications, you pay for repairs that result from this modification.
Oh and by the way, all your other warrentied parts other than that directly effected by your mods is still covered by law. They cannot void the ENTIRE warrenty by VIN.

why the hell is half this post about dynoflash being crap? Honestly, mitsubish found the flash, do you think any other company would be able to "disguise" the flash? It could happen to any flash, by any vendor. Why the hell are people changing opinions about this now?
When you have a few negative comments, they always make a product look bad and can veer your decision, even when a product is really great. I dont give a **** about dynoflash; I dont have it, but im saying what the hell does taking your money elsewhere have to do with a flash being discovered by MITSUBISHI? You modified your car, you got what you paid for.
I dont see where this thread went right.

He didnt specify that they found the flash. They could have looked at the ECU and seen scratches or something and assumed it was "tampered with" There are 2 sides to every story and I dont think we are getting that.

I think we can all agree that this post is some measure of proof that the whole weight sticker recall
was a scam to get a look under everybodies hoods.
That really sucks.
Maybe they didn't have to read out the ECU. Maybe some of the mounting screws have paint marks on them
and they could tell they had been removed.
I never looked.Maybe they just rolled the dice and hoped for 7.
We have all suspected/known that
reads these boards, so they know folks are getting ECUflashes; and yes from several venders.

, not on your part.Incidentally, I'm EXTREMELY happy with my dynoflash, and after several months my car runs as strong as ever. I had mine flashed in person, but I didn't really deal with Al... I just let him do his thing. I've got Buschur breathing stuff and an EBC, and with those mods + Al's tuning, I gained approx. 60-70WHP. The stock Evos that day were putting down ~230whp and I put down ~300whp @ 21psi... (I don't have my own baseline because I had already installed the bushur stuff, and was running my EBC at 12psi until the tune, so I'm estimating based on the average of the other evos there...) Also, my torque # was 325lbft...
As a business owner, I always hate reading the stories of bad experiences. I would really hate if someone had a bad experience and they posted about it in the newspaper, but reviewers do that to us all the time (fortunately, they've all been positive). It's just the nature of being in business, dealing with unhappy people. Fortunately, for Al, he has 100's of satisfied customers like myself to outweigh his occasional lapses...

Im just very dissapointed in him because his product is supposed to be undetectable. As far as someone telling me to go to a mod friendly dealer, it wont work. My cars VIN number is listed as VOID to all mitsu dealers. How do i know? I went to another dealer and found out. I spent X ammount of dollars on a flash, and it was great on day 1. But now it seems the car is just loosing its performace. I keep up with my oil changes, and i have a ACT clutch that is still good. Feels like the car is going back to where it was b4 the flash, loud motor and knock. And for those of you who are wondering how my flash was detected, i went in to the dealer to have that stupid call back thing i got in the mail for a sticker of some sort, that and a tire rotation. Next thing i see is the service manager coming up to me asking me to come into the general managers office where all 3 of us had a talk about the car. It turns out that some district warranty guy was there. He is the guy who evaluates whether the car should have warranty work done or not. Now i guess he must of taken a look at the car. Service manager quickly asks me what other mods other than the ones visible are on the car. I said just what you see. So he says, well apparently your ECU has been tampered with and has changed the way your car operates internally. I gave him a confused face like i didnt know what he was talking about. So then the service manager turn to me and tell me straight up, sorry but modifications of this nature are not allowed and go against our warranty policy. And i say ok, and now what? he tells me sorry, but the warrany on my car has been revoked. So now im screwed.
What about a sticker replacement requires them to scan your ECU??
First, as far as my warranty is concerned, Mitsubishi can eat the corn and peanuts from my ****. It was worthless the moment I rolled off the lot. At least the powertrain warranty was.
Second, you took a modded car into your dealer and you are surprised you got busted? Look, if it wasn't the flashed ECU they busted you for, they would have busted you for something else.
Third, your dealer needs to be introduced to the Magnuson-Moss Act. They CANNOT void your entire warranty. They can only deny warranty claims for parts of the car that may have been affected by your mods. Since you modded your drivetrain with the exhaust mods, they can deny any claims related to the increased power output. They CANNOT deny any claims related to other parts such as your power windows or air conditioning, for example. The burden of proof is upon them.
As far as you car "going back to where it was stock", you probably have some other mechanical issue that the ECU is adapting to. Either that or your *** is adapting to the horsepower of your car. It happens to everyone. We all get addicted to having more power.
I'm sorry, you "pierced the veil" the moment you bolted on your new exhaust. You just happened to get busted because they probably guessed you had to have done some sort of tuning to take advantage of your mods. I bet all the district manager had to do was dyno your car with his *** in order to tell you had flashed the ECU.

Mitsubishi regional managers are fully aware of these reflashes done to the Evo's ECU. My dealer service manager knows fully well any modded Evo will have some sort of engine management.
My dealer even heard my fuel pump and knew it was aftermarket. If I have a problem other than a broken power window motor, etc., I'm paying for it. I know and accept that. But I am banking on the reliability of the 4G63 and don't abuse my drivetrain. I'm good to go.

Aside from all the opinions about the vendor in this thread, one thing needs to be more carefully considered: Mitsubishi is getting very aggressive with voiding the driveline warranty.
I recently purchased the Tommi Makinen/titanium 16G with the 10.5 cm^2 hotside. In order to replace the turbo, I wanted new gaskets and studs so I don't have to extract those from the OE turbo.
I got the list of parts I needed and called the dealer to order. Not only did they ask me lots of weird questions about why I needed these parts (which I told them it wasn't their business), they said they'd need my car's VIN in order to complete the sale. I laughed at the guy and hung up.
I don't expect any warranty coverage if I roast my clutch or make a mistake that ultimately causes the demise of my motor. I will not, however, surrender my VIN just to order some gaskets and studs. The degree of study Mitsubishi is willing to embark on to learn the mod history of every car is ridiculous. I'd rather them just cut the MSRP of the car by $2000 and sell it with no warranty whatsoever.
A piece of advice: Going into a dealership with an MBC attached to your car is like walking into a bank with a gun. You're gonna end up getting really screwed over.
