What is the future of E-85??

So I've been thinking about switching over to E-85 for the last month. But everybody that talk to says it's a bad idea. and that E-85 is going to die off. there is no future in it and that plants are shutting down.

What the hell is this true? I really want E-85 but if it's going to shut down in the future what's the point.

Well, if it helps, we are getting more and more stations in our surrounding area that carry E85. I can't see it dying off anytime real soon.

IMO, I'd reap the benefits and go for it. It's not like you can't switch back to gasoline if E85 ever goes away.

And no one here is a psychic, so you aren't going to get any guarantees if or when it may happen.

Get a dual tune then if your so worried .... 91 - 93 oct gas tune and a E-85 tune. E-85 is to much fun to miss out on. Just think...the more people that buy it the more demand there will be...the more stations that are made.....

I don't think it is going anytime soon. might as well enjoy it while it lasts. plus if you convert just means that much more of a need for it, supply & demand

Nothing will be going anywhere if money is in it! Farmer income has increased due to ethanol production and ethanol also helps the economy by using USA grown power! Keep your money here mang! Haha, I've ran it for 3yrs and love it! The gains are nice and e85 smells good out the exhaust!

Currently E85 is primarily made from field corn. This has limited application as a long term answer to any of our nation's energy needs.

With that said, I do think that in the short term E85 from corn can be an important part of essential stop-gap measures we need while effective long-term energy solutions ramp up.

Long-term, ethanol from a myriad of sources can and should be an important part of our nation's path to energy independence.

I suggest you take the E85 plunge! Your EVO will thank you. And so should your country.

E85 is getting bigger ever year. Whomever said E85 is going to die off is way off track. Plants here are increasing production all the time, and with switchgrass farms coming along with new hybrids, ethanol production is getting easier.

I actually had to read this comment thrice to make sure it was from failbook.

The negative repercussions of subsidizing a net-negative product through market manipulation prooven to be disasterous economically. Most of which will occur outside of our political 4-year cycle so no harm no foul right?

However, this country being the pendulum of "D" or "R" that our two party system is, we will continue to dump billions of taxpayer dollars into this worthless product.

If you cant solve a problem with $10,000,000,000 then for sure you can solve it with $100,000,000,000 right? Thats free market retard economics founding principal!

Most of the ramp up in Ethanol usage is not E-85, it is replacing MTBE oxygenated fuel with E-10 that has driven the rise in ethanol usage. Not that I am complaining about more E-85 stations, but most of them have very low usage of E-85 even though it is available.
