Thumbs up

Me too! My turbo is spiking 24 and taper to 20 by 8000. Good to corroborate how accurate your boost gauge is! My DEFIs seems to be pretty accurate.

Thanks mrfred for making the sensor available!

I've been communicating with andenbre who is running a JDM Evo 9 MAP sensor in his Evo 9. He has traced an issue to the JDM MAP sensor where it is causing a momentary lean condition when releasing the throttle during spool. Its not a serious problem, but I want everyone to be aware of it. I expect that this only affects Evo 9s and '05 Evo 8s. I haven't seen it in my car, but perhaps I haven't done a part throttle release during spool up. I'm going to try it in an hour or so, and I am working to find the cause of this.

is this momentar lean condition anything to worry about, or is it just a small thing that can be overlooked?

I had a GM MAP sensor on my 8 and it worked great. But you have to tap into the vaccumm hose on the manifold and tap into a 5v power source to operate the sensor. The beauty of the JDM MAP sensor is that it is totally stealth. You reomve the USDM sensor and plug it in its place. Then flash the ECU and you can log boost.

I have the exact opposite as indicated from my WB. Part throttle lift I see the car even richer (11.2 holding to 9.8 or so for a split second when I lift).

I see the enriching when the stock sensor is in but with the jdm it leans out on mine.
here are a couple logs of the event on my car. it couild be a missfire causing the lean signal. but everything is good with the stocker and with the jdm I am getting some funky stuff.

ps they are evoscan logs

I took a look at the logs. You only see this at low rpm lift off? If you get a chance, can you get a few more of this type of log for both the USDM sensor and JDM sensor with AFRMAP and AccelEnrichment enabled?

I do see it in other rpm ranges. its just in the lower ranges that it seems to cause a missfire

Not sure if a new thread has been started about this issue yet or not, but I searched the code and ran across this thread so I thought I'd post here.

On the way to a track day at Grattan yesterday my car threw a P0401 code. I wasn't ON the track, but just on the way to it. It happened as I was decelerating from a long period of time cruising at ~60 mph. As I was decelerating to make a left turn I heard an odd click/buzz noise from the engine bay and the SES light came on.

So of course I was like, "Great, what just broke on the way to the track?" When I got the track I used my laptop and cable to check the code, "P0401: Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient". I was puzzled about this because I didn't have Internet access at the track and couldn't search the forums. So I just cleared the code and it didn't return throughout the whole track day and hasn't returned yet.

Now that I've had a chance to research it, it looks like it's got something to do with the JDM MAP sensor. I do have a JDM MAP sensor that was installed a few weeks ago. I've followed the instructions on here and up until now, no SES. Has there been any fix for this yet?

Thanks
