you know what may have happened? I think I may have inadvertently flashed in a map that doesn't have the jdm map sensor coding in. ps I am also running no o2 with the rear o2 disabled and a 10 ohm resistor in the heater circuit

Where did you purchase your Random Tech?
I got mine from UltraRev. They had a good price. Its definitely a genuine Random Tech HFC. It took about three months before the first CEL appeared. I have read other threads where people with the Random Tech HFC also get a CEL. I installed a mechanical fix (spark-plug anti-foul extender) a few weeks ago. It seems to be helping.

My car is getting the p0401 code as well and idle is really bad! I don't know if this is the problem but I didn't change anything since. I am going to check it out right now.....

Sweet. Thanks mrfred.

How close is the 96940011 ROM to the earlier 96420008 ROM? Would it be difficult to find the addresses for the 96420008? I would try but I am weak in the area of dissassembly...

BTW- received the sensor. Thanks for the fast shippping!

Wow. I mailed it on Thursday. That was fast. Send your ROM to either email address I gave you, and I'll check it out.

You might want to change you "Other EVO 8 ROM's" to add the tables and change the scaling values to log boost correctly. I was reading it and it was a little missleading to me as plugging it in and going did work but threw a code, but it did not read the correct boost settings until you gave me the tables to update the scaling values. Then it seemed to work. Do you think you should put that in there?
