Thanks, I did it this midday but I still only see 0. I left the car idle 15 minutes and nothing. Only my STFT are moving slightly around 0 and some jumps to -2 or +2.

When I drove it last night, the AFR are matching perfectly my map, so maybe it's normal. But perfect 0 seems quite strange, no ?

Now it's even worth, I've changed my map to tephra v7 because I prefer it over v5. And I can't seem to log any Fuel Trim. Even STFT is behaving strangely.
Do I need to uncheck everything and let only these lines checked ?

Finally got back into playing with ecuflash to adjust my idle values, and have some questions about ic relay values. Does this refer to how the idle control valve functions? I've given up trying to understand the step values, and just started looking at the values for the ic relay options, and I'm wondering if this might effect the issue with the erratic idle I've been having as well as the accelerated idle under temperature load. WOuld someone do me a huge favor and give me a brief description of each of the ic relay options in the jpeg ? I'd really appreciate it. I like to have a clue about what I'm messing with before I start changing values to see what happens.

Specifically I'm curious about the temp controls and rpm controls and what they affect. Thanks!

Sorry for the crappy pic, if you can't make out the values let me know and I'll reload a better one.

I have a 2002 WRX Bugeye which I love and will probably want to tune in addition to my Evo 9. I seriously doubt I'm going to get into ACD tuning...

I was getting ready to buy the EvoScan 1.3U Universal USB Datalogging and Reflashing Cable and when it came time to buy I got options i'm not sure about.

Here are my questions.

1. Re: "Evo AYC/ACD or Subaru Reflash Support Required?: Subaru Reflashing (keep pin9)" - It's a simple choice between ACD tuning and Subaru tuning?

2. How would the following benefit me? "EvoScan Right Angle 1.8m Extension Cable" - I'm inclined to get it just to make sure I'm not annoyed for some reason later that I didn't get it, it's only $13.50.

3. Re: "Additional Software with Any Purchase: Evoscan Windows Software (Win2k/WinXP/Vista/Win7/64bit)" - Why do I need additional software? For an install on a second machine perhaps? I"m confused, doesn't the cable come with the software?

Please advise this noob.

Thanks.

What evo7base.xml file should I be using for 9640008?

There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the evo7base.xml file in any of these locations:
\EcuFlash 1.43.3252 evo7base_20081101.xml
\EcuFlash 1.43.3252 evo7base.xml
\EvoScan 2.9.0021 evo7base.xml
\download.evoscan.com evo7base.xml
\svn.xml.ecuflash.mods.tephramodv7 evo7base.xml

The differences vary between (endian="big") vs. (endian="little") and addition of (swapxy="true") to huge swaths of additional definitions...

I've been able to EcuFlash off and back into the ECU, the car still starts 'n' runs okay. Added 2byte load, JDM map. Successfully logged a couple runs with EvoScan. Can't seem to get the MapTracer to work at all though.

Any tips would be great. Thanx.

Make sure you're running the latest evo7base.xml!

So after reviewing all the files, it looks like the evo7base.xml which can be downloaded from EvoScan is the most up-to-date one of the bunch. It's a bummer that this isn't included in the latest software release, it'd save us newbies some trouble.

Link here:
http://www.evoscan.com/roms/mitsubishi/

With it installed MapTracing works flawlessly, as do all the other EvoScan features I've tried.

I hope this helps others.

I just downloaded and installed the latest autoupdate of EvoScan (2.9.0021) and it bugs out when I run it with "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)". My previous version 2.0.0019 ran with no problems. Did anyone else come across this problem and if so what is the solution.

2)I've also updated Evoscan to version 2.90029 but that update just renders the program unusable all together. There's an application error that states: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."
I have the same issue. Did you ever get is resolved?

I'm having problems editing the MUT table for 2 byte load, rpm, and airflow. I remember reading about someone having the same problem awhile back but I can't find that thread anymore. I've followed Merlin's guide and got it up but ecu flash won't allow me to change any of the values.

that is true, tactrix has not been maintaining ecuflash for a number of years now.

From what I found both EvoScan and EcuFlash install older evo7base.xml's but EvoScan installs one with the wrong endian format rendering map tracing non functional. Just suggesting that you (EvoScan) update the installer. Maybe you did with the .0021 update?

Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Evoscan logging.......

To all you gurus out there what do I need to do to get Evoscan to log from my MH8302 ECU ?

I have tried many things suggested for other ECU's but I don't have enough experience to set it up myself.

The ECU is almost identical to the Gen 4 Eclipse and also very similar to Outlander, 2010 I think from memory....

Am I able to get the addresses required from the rom?

Maybe an odd question but...

How would I go about logging CAM/Crank input signal and injector output signal???

Basically I am looking to see where the ECU fires the injectors in relation to the cam and crank signals... From the ECU's perspective.

Just curious....

And yes I know, my cat died a long time ago.
