Thumbs up What a difference....

Yesterday I installed the TBE that I had on my 8. It is a JIC dp, an Invidia N1 exhaust and a HFC. I love this set-up because it is quiet, light, and makes power.

I also extended the lean spool from 7000 rpm to cutoff. Thanks mrfred Then I went logging. I was amazed at the difference that the TBE and the lean spool made to the car. When I logged the car prior to this, the car would fall flat on its face after 7000 rpm due to disabling of the lean spool system. After extending the lean spool, this no longer happens and the car pulls like a freight train all the way to cutoff.

The AFR also leaned out to such an extent that only minor adjustments are now needed to hit 11:1 AFR.

The boost also improved and held better to redline than before. Again, only minor adjustments are now needed. Keep in mind that I run on 91 octane fuel and cannot run a lot of boost like the 93 octane folks.

Here is some data to share with you. The data is based on three logs stock and three logs with TBE and LS extension:

AFR stock:

AFR with TBE and lean spool extension:

Boost stock:

Boost with TBE and LS extension:

And for the grand finale, the power gain. The car gained 24 hp on DLL and 7 ft-lb of torque and that is w/o any real tuning. OK, you can call the LS extension tuning if you want. Notice how the hp curve holds almost steady all the way to cutoff while before the curve fell after about 6500 rpm. This is, in part, due to the stupid lean spool disable @ 7000 rpm.

Nice.

Now how about adding:
JDM RS MIVEC map
+30 on the boost limit
+50 on the boost control load offset (this should make it just run 100% on your single solenoid, which will probably give about the right boost on your rodent urine 91 octane?)

That lot would make it richer again

Worth comparing the baro reading at cruise and then at 7000 RPM. Big restriction there.

Where exactly is the sensor that the "baro" column is coming from? In the MAF housing?

Yes, it is like being at 2500ft elevation on the standard airbox at high revs.

Should be able to run with out knock at 22.5 psi.

Okay, I feel dumb now. Where's this lean spool at in ecuflash? Is it the boost enhancement start and stop rpm parameters? I'm still pretty new to this stuff, so please be kind.

Same one I've had the last year or so....runs like a champ and not too expensive either .

I just increased my lean spool disable to 7500 on mine for more testing this week but the dyno at the end of the week will tell all...

You have to make a modification ECUFlash to get it to show this parameter. It is a rom specific modification. See this thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=byte+load

They are a few others floating around as well. I would suggest backing up your ECUFlash xml files (and original rom) before messing around with them though .

Is this the right JDM RS mivec map. There are a lot of them floating around. I just want to make sure that this is the right one
