Because the 3rd gear on a 6-speed is shorter than on the 5 speed. Same exact reason why every 5 speed evo puts down more power on a 4th gear dyno pull than it does on a 3rd gear pull. This is why we choose to tune with a gear in the middle of the gear range that allows enough resolution to do accurate tuning without the car whipping through the RPM range too quickly. There will always be power variances depending on the gear chosen.

Jamie, this is AWESOME! Here is a 3rd gear pull. Only 25.5 psi too, i has a missing .5 psi.

I added the dyno correction display on the dyno graph too.

Thanks Turco, still smoothing out a lot of little bugs in her though. NOw that Bill got some decent data from ESP'd Mustang Dyno we are gonna do a street pull soon to compare the results. I'd add a little more smoothing to that funky ripple you got there.

Until we can get more data, its best used to save a "BASE" pull before tuning or adding mods and then compare the results against your own "BASE" pull, rahter than have people worrying about the numbers for now. If you will be doing the mods/tuning across a long time frame, its best to use the weather corrections feature to see more stable results over different days.

Dave from ESP will be emailing me the data files of a few of Bills pulls so I can compare them in the simulator.

Good to know man. I know the number is high but i like it I could truthfully care less about the number, i like the way the car feels and she rips it up on the autox course. Cant wait to see what she does at NED

I hear ya man, Bills car felt really strong with the moderate baseline tune we did to save time on the dyno. I can pnly imagine how it feels now since our baseline was 333whp and I got him up to 347whp on the 3rd geat pull and 363 on a 4th gear pull. Its all about the experience Since he's putting down roughly 50whp more than I did on a mustang dyno and my car is capable of nudging into the 11's, I'm hopeful we can get his to hover in the mid 11's after a few passes.

Yeah, I was there lol. Next time try not to have a full tank of gas, 3 dead bodies in the trunk and the e-brake on lol. I probably won't even race my evo at the track anymore since i dont wanna risk breaking something now that I have it for sale Maybe you,me and Bill can have some highway fun on tape before i get rid of it though

Do you just copy and paste the data.xml to evoscan or add it to the bottom? I'm not very computer literate and i really want to use this function for logging/tuning. Basic instructions would be appreciated. Side note- Do you need the full/paid version of Excel in order for this to work?

I like that idea! Especially considering of all the pics of my car, and your that we have taken..we actually have none of ours together??!!

But ya, mid 11's would be nice. It kind of would be nice knowing the car is border-line rollcage necessary

for a free substitute of excel go to www.openoffice.org

Just delete all of the useless rows of data in your log except the 100% TPS stuff. In the left column of Virtual Dyno Room, paste the LogEntrySeconds column from your datlog and in the right column of Virtual Dyno Room, paste the RPM column from your datalog.

I think running below 11.500 seconds in the 1/4 mile with a stock turbo is a nice goal, and attainable. I'd love to see your car exceed that! Not sure if anyone on NewEnglandDSM has done that yet right?

Off topic kinda- I think TTP had a stock turbo running high 10's- mind you with a bunch of gizmo's on it.

English Racing has the fastest I think but its on a high compression setup with e85 and tons done to it. When I say attainable, I mean with bolt-on's,basic tuning and driver experience.
