95 seems to work fine for me.

I'm also going to experiment in lowering the RPM drop from 1500 to 750.

I know 4TUN8 is using 100, but that's a little too much drivetrain shock for my taste

+1 to that, lol. vboy, we'll see how good you are the day you mis-shift and suck a valve. This mod has safety protocols which is the main reason for it. I dont care how good you are, mis-shifts happen to the pro's just the same. As far as the expensive consequences...this mod is MUCH more gentle on the drivetrain than your way, which is why people make such mods on many makes of cars.

Since I'm not using the correct ROM for my ECU I found one of the downfalls. I can't change my flash w/o first reflashing the stock rom back. If I try to flash over my modified ROM the car doesn't start, but if I modify my ROM, flash the stock on back on the ECU, then reflash the modified ROM the changes take effect and the car starts.

I can't wait unitl David patches my stock ROM

Got everything downloaded and tuned maps switched over. I will flash it in later and try out the features. You will have paypal shortly there after. Thanks for your work.

Only thing I noticed that a couple of the maps for my Stock 94170008 ROM ID did not match his Stock 94170008 Low Octane Tming for one. I will see how it works out later

Questions:
I was up til 5am last night trying to figure how the h3ll do use a patch with ecuflash.

My ecu code is 94170008, I found that xml file, pasted in at the end of the text before <rom>, and copied my orginal tune into the modified tune.

I found out after I was done the loads on timing and fuel maps were different from my tune(10-300)(10-260) so I went back and changed those too.

Was there anything else tricky that I might've missed? Took me about 10 solid minutes to copy and paste anything from one tune to the other, and by the time I was done I was seeing cross-eyed.. lol. Please let me know my car won't blow up.

P.S. Thank you tephra, you are awesome. When payday comes I will gladly donate to the cause!

Just a warning for those of you who think this is true.

Cecil county dragway, I'm launching great 60 foots, but I want that extra couple of tenths, so I flat foot shifted. I had done it before, but this time, when I did it, I rammed it back in 1st gear from the top of 2nd gear trying to hit 3rd, and I dropped the clutch......

I dont drive in valet mode but say you let someone borrow your car or take it to a garage to have something done and they see that cel flashing the next thing you know they are trying to figure out why.

I dont know, I would rather it be a stealth feature since i thought that was the point? Not having a light saying something isnt right, check me and see why..

Thats why i thought maybe a couple blinks to know you have engaged it would be satisfactory and then when someone brings your car back and says man something is wrong with your car it acts like i hit the revlimiter at 4000 rpms, I can say why are you flooring my car? but the light to me is a dead giveaway something isnt right and will freak someone out.

well, honestly, if you let your friend borrow the car, or take it somewhere you'd use valet, they shouldnt be checking your car out, just drive the thing... worst case, they'd call you and ask about it and you 'd tell them, its normal

tonight i tested the nlts at the track and i must say wow!!! what a difference.

i only gained .1 on my time but thats cus track prep sucked tonight and it was very slick. also we're 5000+ ft. above sea level.

but the main thing i wanted to post was my mph gain. before my fastest was 12.0 @ 121 and tonight i ran 11.9 at 127. 6mph faster than before.

i can't wait to go to a track thats closer to sea level and see what i can do

That is impressive. That means, the time you lost on the launch, you gained back in shifting... and then some. Someone that is smarter than I am could do a calculation to figure out what it was.

How it is for consistency? (assuming you made multiple passes)

good stuff.
