like i have had this knock problem in the 6600-6900 range where i will get 2 counts of knock 2 out of 3 WOT runs, but it happens no matter if i have 11* there, or 18* there.

so I increased the knock multiplier in that range by 1 and am going to see how that works out

the evo 10 only has 1 knock multiplier map. I increased 20 to 21 at 6500 rpms in order to see if it is phantom knock, which im pretty sure it is, as the knock wont go away with any change in timing.

the rest of the knock multiplier map is stock.

that is a lot of timing up top
Not for a evo 8.

Not at a peak load of only 245.

You got to remember that your talking to everyone in here about tuning 8's and 9's. Much different then the timing of a EVO 10. Just something to keep in mind when suggesting things if you haven't got experience with past ones.

a log with loads would help so we can see what ignition you are actually hitting

your timing goes up really quick. it jumps 4* from 6000 rpm to 6500 rpm

looks good as long as your not getting knock

You should NOT be messing with the knock filters, unless you have a built engine.

Also, raising the knock filter to see if its phantom knock is very incorrect and dangerous.

well so far it is having no effect of getting rid of the phantom knock. stock is 20, and i have it at 23.

i would not have done it without the suggestion of knowledgeable pro-tuners

i didnt raise it to see if it was phantom knock, maybe i used the wrong words in that post you quoted. i confirmed it is phantom knock with not only changing the ignition timing up and down, which had no effect on the 2 counts of knock in that area, and also with detcans

The spike in 2500-3000rpm area is strange - can not fix it
P.S. possibly will move from 6 to 8 degree on peak load (4-4.5k rpm) - since it is more knock stable.

Chaning something as simple as my front motor mount induced quite a bit of low end knock. Can you explain how to get rid of this without adjusting the knock filters?
