PATCH: KNOCKCEL+NLTS+AltMap (V4)
Its not the BCS, my bad. Its a sensor on the back of the intake manifold. I unplugged it and the really loud clicking stopped but theirs another one clicking somewhere. Ive left the key on for about 20 minutes now to see if it would stop, but no luck.
Worst part is, I cant flash it back to any other map. Its not reading the init code or something. Ive tried unplugging the ecu for a few minutes, same problem. Clicking still goin. Needed to use my car tonight, this sucks. Anyone have any ideas?

Teph I tested the 88590015 you sent me, but all Im getting is clicking from the BCS it sounds like. Sorry it took me a bit, had to install Jamie's harness as well. Those ecu pins are a serious PITA, and I still dont think it went in all the way. Anyway car wont start. Will email you a copy of the rom I am using. I took the rom you sent me and put my tables in of course, and updated my xml. Did I miss anything?
Yeah, temporarily using the Evo VIII pins on the IX ECU is a bit of a pain but some have said they squished the pin a little with pliers to make it slide in better. As I stated on the webpage where you can order one, I will be sending out all the Evo IX owners the Evo IX ECU pins the very day I receive them. They say it'll be in May but hopefully it'll be a little sooner *crosses fingers*
So is it the solenoid hooked up inline with the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose thats making the clicking noise??

yeah it wont be the BCS, generally if there is a clicking when you do the flash then its either the ROM is screwed, or the Flash screwed up.
As I said in the email try using ECUunlocker to flash your original ROM back.
Did you keep a log of the flash?
Cheers

No, its further back from that one. It has two vaccuum lines connected to it, and those go into the intake manifold. One of them is connected to a gold colored tube that runs along the back of the intake mani.
I left it for a good while, came back and still clicking. Id say an hour or so. It killed my battery. Had to unplug it and charge, but its not looking good.

Tephra is still the man! whew. Got it up and running on his recomendation of getting ecuflash ready to go, and immediately hitting ok on the flash as soon as i turn the key. Worked like a champ. Now, since Im sick in the head, Im flashing the ver5 map back in. Typing as its flashing. Yup, same clicking, still no start. This time saved a copy of the log file so Teph can work his magic.

hehehe - you can confirm this but im pretty sure that you were editing the V5 rom with old XML
Not so much directed at you but for others that will be migrating from V2 to V4 (or V5 in the NEAR future) - PLEASE delete all your old XML
I shall explain, the old XML references maps which are at the end of the code, when I add new code these maps get "pushed" down. So by using OLD xml against the new ROM you are infact overwriting the code - which is obviously BAD :P

Dave you nailed it. I thought I had it all out last night, but I went through it with a fine toothed comb and found 2 lines I didnt delete. Did everything all over from scratch like you said in your email, and worked like a champ. Soo....
88590015 TESTED AND WORKING ON AN IX!!
I use ecu controlled boost, so I loaded the base maps with real low WGDC numbers. Put my normal 100 octane numbers into the alt map. Went out with the base map on, hit 13psi. Flipped the switch (on the fly, so freakin cool) and it boosts to 27psi. Workin perfectly =)
Jack_of_Trades, switch works great mang, only bad thing is the LED isnt working on map switch. In the rom, I have it set to adc01 or whatever that is, do I need to set it for ICS instead?

Quoted from my Map Switching Harness tutorial:
If any of these pertain to you, this option is for you!
* You have a USDM EVO IX
* You removed your ICS switch
* You prefer a separate flip switch
* You would rather have a separate indicator light that stays on constant
when the ALTERNATE maps are in use

Anyone who purchases one now with the evo VIII pin will be getting the Evo IX pin in the mail once I receive them
On the page I have linked in my sig, there is a ECU pinout diagram for the EVO VIII ECU and the EVO IX ECU
