Switch from AFC to Flash?

So my car was recently broken into and the AFC controller was stolen along with a lot of other lameness, but to the point.

I was curious if I could just remove the AFC from the system and switch to just having an mail in tune. I bought my car over 2 years ago with aftermarket injectors (not sure what kind or size) and an apexi AFC II. With the AFC gone the car will hardly start before it stalls.

Car has several other engine mods (if it matters) like cams, exhuast, piping, intercooler etc...

Thanks for any advice!

Yes, you can remove that completely, and get a tune via ECUflash!

Although, mail in might not be the best way to go, but it could work. You'd be better off going to a shop, or learining to do it yourself, if you have some time

Cool, I would love to learn it myself, although a custom tune from one of the experts such as Mellon sounds appealing in the long run. My biggest concern is just the transition from having no AFC to working maps.

I assume there is a base map I could flash to get the car going, or something similar included with the software, then tune from there?

First things first.
-Figure out what injectors are in the car.
-Buy tactrix cable
-download mitsulogger, evo scan, etc

And either read everything in this forum, or spend the money and have someone flash the car after you get it moving. Some vendors may offer a base map for your mods to get you moving, and then tweak it from there.

But there is no part A part B = tune C situation. Beware of people that would act like it is. Every car is different enough to justify a custom tune.

As bad as it sucks, losing the AFC was a move in the right direction anyway.
There isn't a single thing you can do with the AFC, you can't do in ecuflash... better.

Why would you go outside washington state when we have both JohnBradley and Lucas English in state? . If your getting a tune its always best to go local if you can.

Either of them can help you out with a tune or you can just get ECUFlash and learn for yourself.

I could really go with anyone, but being local or not does not mean a whole lot to me, as I have a huge heap of work to do with the car over a month or more, so it wont be a one to two day tune.

The first ROm from me will get you close and you can drive the car so there will be no down time. The subsequent revisions will fine tune and perfect the tune.
