Is it tunning?

Hey,
I Upgraded to a 60 trim turbo. with my mods in my sig. Im tunning with a afc and since the turbo my car has become slower.(I hardly pull on a stock trans am) Is it from tunning with a afc? My car runs great its just slow compared to the stock turbo. I thinking about getting 272's and a flash. I dont want to keep spending money when i dont get big gains. Should i dump the afc and get a custom flash? Is it from not messing with the timing? Aem is not a option at the moment unfortunatly. Any help would be great.

Do you have a wideband? You should get a flash.. you would probaby pick up a good amount of tq. Cams would be good to do before the flash but that's going to cost you a few $$ unless you do the install yourself.

Edit: I had a mail in flash with the SAFCII and had AFR's looking pretty good. I then ditched the AFC and got a custom tune which gave me some good gains down low and a little up top (stock turbo).

You have always amazed me with how crazy you've gone with your mods without having a clue what you're doing. Using a huge turbo and tuning it with an SAFC is sheer lunacy. You really should get a proper tuning device for that thing. You said you don't want to keep spending money without big gains. You shouldn't have done all those crazy mods to begin with if you wanted to go fast. I think you were just impatient and didn't do any homework first. You should at least get a custom flash, but you really need an AEM EMS.

You really should get rid of the S-AFC and take it somewhere to get dyno tuned. AEM EMS is nice but not needed if you dont have the money for one. You can get a Utec for about half the price.

People have gone very fast with a SAFC and with proper tuning and properly sized injectors he can make great power on a SAFC. It may not be the best but it certainly works. I Myself tuned FP Green and Greddy 720CC injectors to make HUGE power all with a data logger and timing. It was easy enough and the car worked VERY well, even at high boost.

ANY Tune would show a Difference but you really should have got some cams 1st. Go geta tune, I bet you are missing over 100WHP and 6-900RPM's of spoolup.

I know that i havent made the best desicions in my mods. Ive been dealing with a shop and they have promised great outcomes. Even though the car runs great its nothing compared to what it should be. Now that i have dropped thousands of dollars and have gotten no power, I am out of money. Its actually embarresing. Im just looking for something to show me what i deserve. I eventually will rebuild and go with aem but thats not in the picture now. I am looking for my best option at the moment. Does every1 agree with the flash from AL?

Well first make sure you have 0 problems.. no boost leaks.. do a compression check.. new plugs etc etc etc... Then think about a flash. If you can afford cams I highly recommend picking up a set before a custom tune

Any other options beside the obvious that i have fugged up? My cars running good and no leaks. I did notice today when i changed my oil that they modified my d/p and they cut a chunck out and extended weld in about a 2 and 2 quaters pipe that went into my 3inch. I wish i had the money to scrap my turbo kit and buy a new one. Im trying to get what i have running right. No flamming i just want what this fourm is for.

Sounds like you need a new shop.
