Smogrunner : make sure you are NOT in valet mode by pressing the pedal and starting normally. Then shutdown and goto ECUflash and change the Enable valet and Auto Valet mode to "0". Then re-flash and you will have disabled Valet mode.

Update to the 94170008 -> 94170015 (03 USDM) v5.8 Works just fine, CEL knock is nice, apparently i get knock all the time while crusing (I set the slow-limit to 2 counts, and the fast-limit to 5 i think) I never got the fast, just the slow a bunch, which i expected. I had the valet rpm set to 114? that was the default, so i tried it first with 100% throttle during init, released throttle, started, and it cranked fine. Then no throttle during init and guess what... the rev-limit of 114 made it die right after starting. HAH, so that works good, i just need to change the valet rev limit. I have not tried the alt-maps or NLTS (kids in the car, didnt want to play too much). ICS spray linger, and ics on knock work. Also restore ics state in ign works. I really like the idea of alt-maps, i can set my WGDC/BDEL to 0 and use a leaner fuel map, (low boost) for around town, then alt-map will have the high-boost WGDC/BDEL and richer fuel map for play time - Great Work! Ill check out the NLTS on the way to work in the morning and post back.

Some people just set them both to 2500, I prefer 1500 and 1531 - just to be sure the ECU is doing the right thing

I disabled the valet mode and set the valet rpm to 2000. But somehow it was enabled when i started driving, so no testing anything this morning, I could only go like ~35 mph. Boo. I put the key in (had autovalet enabled), held down the throttle to disable valet mode, then did the flash, but it still enabled. I have Enable valet and autovalet set to 0 in the rom. BTW using 94170015 v5.8 on a 03 usdm. Ill fix it during lunch and post back.

I've had a situation whereby something was corrupted in my program, and it kept screwing with some of the values in my Boost Control and ISCV Lookup tables. Everytime I'd download it to see what was happening, those tables were corrupted. Go figure.

When this sort of thing happens, start from the base ROM (e.g. v5.8), and program it over again. I did this, and it resolved the issue.

I fixed the valetmode problem, i the cel was still flashing, so i held down the throttle (both values were 0 in the rom) and it went away. 2nd i tried the NLTS, flat on the floor with the throttle, at the top of 1st, and it didnt work. So my engine really liked that. I parked it and looked at the rom, and followed the directions (20% tps, 0 speed, 0 load threshold) and then 2000 rpm.. cluch in and no change, i dont think it is responding to my clutch switch. I made sure Enable NLTS was a 1 in the rom. But no deal. I may actually need the 94170008 rom instead of a 94170015 rom. Ill keep trying after lunch. Oh, AltMaps work like a charm with the AutoICS on mine. Perfect.

I doubt that.

TedB your right, it was my driving. I think i had the speed to low or the load set too high for it to pick up in 1st gear, but from 2nd on, the NLTS works awesome. Im lowering the speed to 20km/h and load to 120%, my TPS is 90% (incase my foot lifts off any). So that works good. The reason it didnt work at all before... Make you sure you are clicking write, NOT test write... DOH.

Update: NLTS in first gear is just weird anyways, the gear is to fast, i did get it to engage while shifting out of first, and it just rev-limited at my shift point.

3rd day of testing the v5.8 on 94170015 and everything works just fine. I have not tried to disable the valet mode yet, but i dont mind that too much anymore.

i have not played with the switchable tune stuff yet, but does the ecu automatically load the regular maps and when the auto ICS is on, it switches to the alternate maps? Just want to clarify.

No, you hold the AutoICS for like 1 or 2 or 3 seconds (i dont know) then it will slowly flash, like 1 flash every 5 seconds. This means you are on ALT-map, and i have tested, works good on 94170015. My altmap WGDC is 0.0'd out and i run about 12 psi. Then my normal map is the 25 psi. Works perfect, i do notice a small hic-cup when shifting the maps at idle. Nothing severe, just a small brr brr then idles normal again. Could be just a coincidence with the idle

Ive noticed that when i use the NLTS i get some abnormal knock, 12 counts was the max i saw (which based on the engine conditions is to be expected, high boost, no fuel, ~160 load). the problem is the entrance back into power, i came into high load with an afr that was lean off scale then came back to my 12.0 at max boost target and tapers to 11.0 at redline, which is good, but the timing was advanced to like 17 at the entrance to power, which i think is responisble for the knock, ive changed the tables to lower the timing at ~140-180 load and 5000+ rpm (they were the default crusing ones around 18*) now they should help calm that knock down, ill post back tommorow morning (its already beer:30 here)

is there any way you guys could perhaps put rom 96420008 ahead of some of the more common used roms from v5? some of the 2004 guys are really itching to try the tephra patch out

silver - re nlts test it in the driveway by setting the parameters articially low.. then you will understand how it works.. not sure how many times I have said that.

post up logs of your NLTS knock... and the NLTS not engaging...

Yeah i tried the drive way mode, and i realized the clutch switch is at the very top 1/2 inch of travel. Which i think is good, it cuts power before the clutch is dis-engaged. and doesnt restore power until the clutch is fully engaged. Good design. Here is my screenshot of the knock.I blame the timing.

Just switched my 94170008 to the 94170015 with v5.8. Cleared my rear o2 cel, I've got slow knock on the cel so thats working, valet mode works on fresh ignition and thats all I got around to tonight. Tomorrow I'll hopefully get time to log and try the other functions and maybe even figure out my slow knock...

maybe...

and again great work Tephra and everyone else involved!!!
