Tephra has pulled the rom, due to a bug in it, not sure what the bug is, but it isn't something i've come across.

Having said that, I don't use some of the features, such as NLTS or AUTOICS for map switching, so the bug could be in that part of the code.

Best off waiting till tephra has ported it over to 5.8

Tephara -

I put the 94170015 V5.8 on my car last night. I did not push the car very hard; I just did a small shake down drive...... to go work on another evo..... but I played with the NLTS, it appears to be working for me. I think I have issues with the sensor location and my driving style, I tend to slip the clutch slightly, which disengages the clutch sensor and allows full revving. When I systematically engaged and disengaged the clutch, and kept my foot on the accelerator, the NLTS worked perfectly. I should note if anyone is testing this, I thought it was not working on several instances, but it turns out it was me just lifting off the throttle by habit. It was very hard for me to trust keeping my foot down and pushing in the clutch :-)

The only issue I have is with valet mode. I not sure if this how it is intended to be or not. My car is in valet mode by default. I have to push the gas down and disable the valet mode every time I turn the car off and restart. Is this intended to be like this, or am I missing a setting? In all actuality it’s not really a bad feature. I kept the RPM at 100 and the car dies every time, it is an added safety feature, anti-theft.

I plan to do further testing shortly, I just want to post my initial thoughts before I go on vacation for the 4th of July.

i believe the valet mode can be changed by a setting in ecuflash to either be enabled or disabled on startup

Ok thanks. I figured that it would be, I didn't have time to play with to much before I had to leave, and didn't get home till really late...... I basicly checked to make sure everything installed properly, and the car was acking
"normal" then I had to run....

yeah sounds like u have autovalet turned on

enabled valet mode = turns the whole system on or off
enable autovalet = always require valet to be turned off when you get in the car

I just upgraded from 941700008 v4.2 to 94170015 v5.8 and all is well so far. I've just been making sure the base tune is working properly and haven't really tested any of the special features yet. Thanks for all your hard work tephra, it really is appreciated.

When tephra writes "remove all old XML" does he mean remove everything between "rom" and "/rom" and just post his new XML inbetween? Or, does he mean remove any CHANGES we have made to the stock XML but leave all the regular stuff (like the knock tables, etc) there?

I just finished switching over all my maps and settings to the 5.8. After cruising around for 10 mins everything seems ok. Thanks again Tephra.
Smogrunner, He means remove all additional xml tables you added previously. You can just redownload ecuflash and use the fresh xml and add what he has in his txt file. Just cut paste it on at the end before /rom. Don't forget the few things in the evo9base xml that need changing.
