disable P0300 test
Hair spray and zipties. I used to suffer from the same issue. If you take off the upper strut bar you gain better access. If you take off the throttlebody you can see where the infamous hose is. Also towards the passenger side there are some hoses that tend to pop off. Well worth the scrapes on the forearm to get them suckers ziptied!

This seems to be working for me as well. I got a nice RUFF cold start where it would usually ALWAYS pop the code up. But now no more P0300
My car is an 03 and the rom ID is 94170008

I get the same damn p0401 I had hoses pop off before but now randomly get it and all the hoses are connected so not sure I might turn it off too
600+ miles with no p0300 code! Everyday I wake up and think it will come back but it doesnt. I used to get it constantly. Thank you mrfred.
I have not had it using ecuflash 1.34 or after switching to the 1.40
Everyone that has been able to pass, can you please document exactly what bits you had on and what ones were off? trying to compile a list so know our "boundaries". I know that anything to do with the O2 heater that is disabled will not pass (at least in OR), but it seems that the 56D8 to turn off the test will. I havent tried the 5.08+/Mrfred patch to simulate the rear O2 and see what it will do though.

Aaron, I turned periphery bit 2 to the value Mrfred posted in his original post(edit...it was actually EDCF that I changed it to, in my ROM). It disabled my p0300, and my EGR readiness test. The monitor shows up as not supported, so the OBD2 check overlooks it. I couldn't get my EGR to set the day prior to doing the periphery bit mod, so the car wouldn't pass as the monitor wouldn't switch to ready. I am also running Tephra's 5.1 patched 94170015 rom, with the o2 sim enabled, and had no issues whatsoever. I do have the o2 sensor plugged in to not trip the heater CEL though.

I've had that pesky p0300 for eons, ever since I installed the HKS 280 cams and the problem followed me with the BF272 as well on the new built shorty/head.
I tried this fix today and it vanished and never came back after hours of driving (usually comes right back)
thanks guys, the SES light didn't bother me personally but people riding with me would be making a big deal about it
