mrfred, the gear ratios listed for the 05 VIII GSR/RS cannot be correct. My gearing takes me well past 160 at 7000 rpm in 5th (my speedo says 165). I suspect the 03/04 five speed gearing is the same as the 05 five speed gearing.

If you can verify the correct ratios, I'll update my file and repost it.

I did some searching and the VIII GSR/RS tranny (03-05) is the same as the JDM VII (7) tranny. So the the ratios listed for the 03-04 five speed are correct and apply to the 05 model as well.

Old but still relevant thread. Any suggestions for tuning WGDC for 5th gear without driving my max speed of 170+ on public roads? I currently overboost in 5th using my 1st-4th gear WGDC.

You should probably use a general interpolation for the 5th gear colomn against the first four, if that makes any sense. Other than that, you already know 5th overboosts so make an adjustment according to that as well.

I'm really confused as to what rpm/mph values are. Why is it that the mph is high for the lower gears and low for the higher gears.

rpm/mph is the ratio of engine rpm to vehicle speed. rpm/mph is a set number for each gear, lower gears have higher values because the engine rpm is higher relative to vehicle speed, e.g., 7000 rpm in first gear is maybe 40 mph giving a ratio of 7000/40 while 7000 rpm in 5th gear is probably ~150 mph, giving a ratio of 7000/150. I forget the exact values now (maybe they are in the first post?), but the idea is to select an rpm/mph value that is between the value for the gears where you want the boost transition to occur.
