yeah but what i was thinking is that those values will have to be mapped for every tranny. If we had like "1st" = *enter RPM/MPH* value then you could just display 1st. Users are going to have to edit the definition files anyway come time this is implemented. Like i said i am not trying to add major complexity just ease of use so when you are tuning on the side of the road you don't make a mistake.

(its in the first post and many of the next ones dude!)

um the mrfred discovery will work on stock ROM's and not mine :P

the 3dmap posted above will work only on mine.

how many columns do we need? 6, 5 or just 3 (1+2, 3+4, 5+6)

Thing about 5+6 is that it takes so long to spool up the TBEC has a decent chance of fixing over/underboost. Thoughts?

It truthfully isn't great for the motor to be going full bore in overdrive gears so giving up 5/6 support isnt probably a huge sacrifice. I am fine with 1+2 and 3+4 or maybe 1+2, 3, 4? I am surprised jamie hasn't petitioned for alt timing maps as well or did i miss that post?

Hell, I'll take the upper gears (frankly as many as I can get). Worst case is you copy or interpolate them or just set them above your levels and only use however many of them you want.

... if nothing else I'd like to be able to bump my 100% wgdc cells since I can hit 24psi ~2750 in 5th and have to have low low duty cycles there sacrificing just a bit of spool in the other gears. Exactly though, by having a boost table for 5th I could make a nice dip right around 2500-3500 to keep the load down in the overdrive gears while not sacrificing anything in the lower gears.

I would be fine with 3 sets though (I'm 5 speed but would probably do 1+2, 3+4, 5)

lol, as long as I can set at least 3 different boost settings I can make use of them at the track. Having the ability to have different timing maps for different gears is awesome but I'd imagine that'd require a ton of space in the ROM

This new Tephra patch is gonna be so filled with features its not even funny. we certainly have a great community here

Well I can do as many or as little as we like, not much difference, but good to get it right from the "factory" :P

But yes slow spool OR overshoot in high gears is what the stock ECU is all about :P

Nice work, 2202 seems to be correct for all Evo 7 JDM/EDM roms, 2204 for all Evo 8 JDM / EDM roms , and 10e4 for all JDM/EDM Evo 9 roms.

Interestingly enough, this also seems to work for all Evo 5 and 6 roms too (shame we can't write to these ecu's yet).

For 94170008:

Map #1 is used for higher gears (e.g., 3rd thru 5th)

Map #4 is used for lower gears (e.g., 1st thru 2nd)

I think 3 maps would be plenty. It would be nice to have 5, one for each gear, if possible but its not really needed.

Also, I am hoping this would exist with alt maps right?

Thanks

My vote would be have at least a separate map for 1st gear (would like to keep boost tame in 1st to help save drive-train parts off the line). Then 2nd and 3rd could use the same wgdc map and 4th and 5th can use the same wgdc.

So i would be happy with 3 if there is something we can do like that, or maybe they will be user definable so everyone can set them up the way they want?
