The definitive EcuFlash Evo 10 thread
Are a lot of people still bricking ECUs?
I'd go EcuTeK again, it was stable and I loved it.
I'm not worried about logging, I have my old/existing maps to work with.
I am worried about:
1) Stability
2) All maps I need being there
3) Interface being as good or same as EcuTeK this time around.
I prefer EcuTeK stability, but I want the ability to flash my own car without traveling to the shop.

1. EcuFlash is now public and fully stable.
2. EcuFlash currently has more complete maps then other offerings (history repeats itself again), espically in OEM boost control which I know you favor.

3. Not sure what Interface elements you are looking for, can you elaborate?
I tried using 159 for high load/rpm region and still hits the CEL error 1241 on part throttle. WOT is fine though.
I've flashed over 30 individual Evo 10's and a couple 09 Ralliarts with no bricking. I've reflashed probably over 500x so far with no bricking.

Sure. EcuTeK has a bunch of provisions and built in fixes for several different codes. P1235 comes to mind. Is EcuTeK running with full ECU boost control and no partial throttle codes or AYC codes? I just want something that will work, and the only software I've used on an Evo X is EcuTeK.

It was probably a lack of table weakness before. I've been out of the game with the X since July. I guess I need to just get on the dyno and start messing with the boost and see if what we've already done works here too.
Thanks GST, I'm pretty sure this is they way I want to go with this car, I'll get that cable ordered ASAP. Hopefully they are in stock.

Got another X. I logged onto the Tactrix store and saw they had an ECU recovery service. That's spooky. Are a lot of people still bricking ECUs?

I did the boost control tables for ECUFlash for the X (by going through the ROM code), and I can definitely say that all the Evo X boost control parameters built into the ROM code are available in ECUFlash. The boost control code in the Evo X ROM is very similar to the JDM Evo 9 boost control code. The only change is the addition of the addition of the 3D boost vs TPS and RPM tables.
There's definitely more tables to be added to ECUFlash and some things need to be cleaned up, but we have a pretty good starting set now. There'd be many more tables already if I actually owned an Evo X. :-) I haven't seen the tables available in any of the other reflashing programs, but I've been told by several tuners (e.g. Bryan) that ECUFlash is on-par with the others.
Do any of you have Hamish's actual e-mail address? I sent him our stock ECU about a month ago to have him work out a logger. Haven't heard from him and he said he'd have it 2 weeks. Now that he's been booted from here I can't reach him............getting a little pissed off at this point.
Any help is appreciated.

The release version of ECUFlash for the X is inherently stable, but it can render an ECU unresponsive if something abnormal happens during a flash such as computer losing power or the cable accidentally getting disconnected. And bricking is not an accurate term now because an unresponsive ECU is fully recoverable.

There are more tables available .. I didn't release them because I can't verify them .. there's 2 more boost table backups and a host of other safety tiedowns (ie overboost protection and torque calculations) ..
The MUT table is wrong .. I am verifying another set now .. once that is done I can get knock logging and full up ECU boost
I'm going to need your help to start reprogramming the software codes ..
Thanks mate ..

I wish it were available.
