I haven't tuned or logged any 10's yet. None in my area that am aware of. I've been doing as much as I can to help the author's of logging programs to make their software compatible with the Evo 10 though. Tactrix has said that they intend to have a logging program for the Evo 10 running within three months, so at the worst, we'll have a full logging solution within three months.

For questions 1 & 2, the answer is that WYSIWYG. Mitsubishi was apparently not interested in using this feature in the Evo 10 GSRs. They did this by making the low/high gear boost maps the same. This is true also for the Evo 8/9. Low/high gear range boost maps are active in those ROMs as well, but Mitsu makes them all the same because they apparently weren't interested in using that feature even though it exists. The only Evo 10 that makes use of the low/high gear range on the SST cars, so those cars are the only ones with different low/high gear boost maps.

Question 3: There are two BCS's in the Evo 10. They work in parallel to relieve boost pressure from the WGA. One solenoid is passive, i.e, the ECU does not attempt to adjust its duty cycle based on BDEL. So the only map that matters for that solenoid is the base WGDC map. The other solenoid is reactive, which means that the ECU will adjust the duty cycle in an effort to reach the BDEL. If the aim is more boost, cranking up the passive solenoid BWGDC would be one of several things I would do.

There will be a logger very soon I just sent our EVOX computer to Hamish, said he only needed it for a few weeks.

This is going great.
What happened to the last ecu sent to him. I thought I read somewhere in the beginning that someone sent an ecu out.

So the passive solenoid is only "passive" in relation to the BDEL table. Basically, you can increase the passive solenoid table numbers w/o having to increase the BDEL numbers. There will not be any negative Wastegat Duty Cycle Correction if I do not up the BDEL numbers. Is that correct?

Assuming the use of a stock boost pill, increasing the numbers in the passive solenoid BWGDC table is the ONLY way to up the boost. The reactive BWGDC is maxxed out at WOT.

Thanks for doing this David. I was thinking of buying the PCMscan, but I think I will wait for Evoscan if it is only a few weeks.

The ECU will still try to maintain target load if the passive solenoid WGDC numbers are changed without altering the BDEL. It will do it by changing the WGDC on the reactive solenoid.

i needed my car since i use it for work. i sent hamish the ecu over my christmas break. I planned on sending it back to him at the start of Jan since i am away for 6 weeks but a few issues arose about where i could store my car. it needed to be mobile when i was gone. sorry

If Hamish still needs one when i get back then i will send it back up to him straight away

Another question:

1. What do the airflow check and torque limiter tables do? There are 4 for torque and 4 for airflow and 1 and 1 are the same and 2 and 2 are the same and so forth. Are these the tables that are adjusted to prevent a CEL? How are they adjusted?

Thanks

It's all good about the ECU you needed back. I had sent him a PM and told him I'd be glad to give mine up for a few weeks. Right now our car is running kick *** and I'm not using it. It's sitting anyway as I don't like driving it in the snow/salt and ruining it. I told him he could have it for a few weeks.

Glad I could help in some small way on getting it done for everyone. I need it pretty badly myself!

Everyone needs to do their part once a while and step up. You certainly did one here. Thanks
I wouldve done it since my car has been in storage since October until ecuflash got released, but I didn't know it was still needed.
