No it is not locked on the 10. Ecuflash will be able to tune the car no problem.

I am not sure if you can use ECUFlash to overwrite the Ecutech ROM, you might need to take it an ecutech vendor to replace it with the stock ROM and then you'll be good to go. I might be wrong about ECUFlash being able to overwrite, better check with others.

No you can overwrite an ECUtek with a ECUFlash map. And you can read a ECUtek map, mod it and flash it back with ECUFlash. That is where the fine line of sharing and distributing vendor maps lies. You can mod your own map but you can share a map that was vendor made. Can you share maps that are modded and vendor based? But you approved on? Always been curious about that....

Dude, this thing flashes retarded fast compared to the VIII and IX. I thought something went wrong, LOL. It took like less than 20 seconds.

I knew that AP could overwrite it. Dont know if it can edit a map in it. But I never read anywhere that ECUFlash could overwrite/edit an ECUTek ROM in the ECU. Can you point me to where you saw this. I'd be very interested.

The guys on Evo X forums talked about it. I can't find the link but they got a supporting vendor flash, opened it up in ECUflash to only see it was a weak tune. They edited it. I've also personally seen ECUtek flashes with ECUFlash and was able to edit the table value.

How are you finding it so far? In comparison to EcuTek, since you've had some experience with that.

Having no logging sucks, but its pretty similar other than that.
I have some really strong base maps to work with (thanks B), so it should be fine until I can get on the dyno.

K&N Filter, GST boost pill, Ultimate UIC pipe, and my old Ultimate cat back are going on ASAP.

Car sounds like a kitchen mixer on stock exhaust.

^ Fortunately, it sounds like Evoscan is just around the corner.

So you kept all your old bolt-ons? You must have subconsciously known you were coming back!

Glad to hear that it is at least similar. I was hoping that the open source community had come up with a near-professional interface, much like EcuTek. I haven't had exposure to EcuTek, so I was curious.

Keep us updated with your successes!

LOL! So true. My buddy gives me grief about that all the time. "Oh there you are, heard you blender coming up the road".

@onboost: thanks for responding. I'm excited to see this tested / released.

yes you can open and edit a ecutek map with ecuflash just like you could with the 8/9, but without the unlocker tool.
