So I checked the voltage at the ecu pin and it is 4.7V. The voltage will go to 0 when off, so it seems it's working just fine. Which leads me to the next couple of questions..... When flashing, does the switch have to be in a certain position?...Are there certain peripheries that have to be enabled/disabled?...Like I said earlier, all the mod options are "1". I'm thinking it has to be something with the way I'm flashing it or with the program. I'm using the latest 5.10 with cold start patch, knock patch, and that's it. If I can't figure this out then I guess I have to bring the laptop with me on road trips to reflash. Is there any way some one with a harness could tell me how they have all their peripheries set- just the hex number would be fine.

I have flashed with the switch either way and it doesn't change a thing - on/off.

No peripheries need to be modified....the "1" means its activated so that is right, im using 5.10 and it all works fine.

You wont find the problem anywhere.....Swap out the harness, I realize its hard to believe and it was for me until I swapped mine out with a new one and it worked again.

My old harness still functioned, light came on/off - I made my new harness, and it all works fine. I will test my old harness this weekend if i get time, i bet it still is spitting out a voltage, but for some reason or another it stopped switching maps.

When you made your own harness- did you follow the wiring diagram exactly or how he worded it- because it seems different from the picture and the wording.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I've got a quick question:
I've got the JOT map switching cable installed and I just installed V7 (88590175).
What would cause the alt map activation to not change from "4" whether its on regular or alt maps? The actual switching works fine, 0v when the switch is off, 4.58 when the switch is on and I also confirmed that it is switching by setting the idle timing differently.
This is the line I have in evoscan:
<DataListItem DataLog="N" Color="" Display="ALT MAP Activation" LogReference="AltMapActive" RequestID="46" Eval="x" Unit="unit" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="20" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="20" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="Alt Map Activation. 0= Standard Maps 3= Alt Maps" Priority="1" Visible="False" />
And in my rom at MUT46 I have 0x8425

Any idea what this could be?

Ok so I went back and tried it out on V5.10 and everything works fine...I log 0 when the switch is off and 4 when its on...could it be something with V7?
Has anyone else tried out map switching on V7 (88590175 rom) and got this result?

Bump!
The same problem om v6 - it works, on v7 - NO.
BTW what is the reason to put 4.7V to ecu pin? Why not 12V or 6V?
