SD - first test success
Thanks and no rush Mr.Fred. I just wasnt sure if I was missing something and obviously I am. Ill have to go back and check for the Wideband Controlled Closed Loop AFR. Im just following and waiting patiently.
Any remaining issues with SD in terms of trims, AFR control, throttle response, idle etc?
Can you post your VE maps?

It worked well on my car for the few days that I ran it. I'm back to MAF for now because I'm messing with some other things.
I'm less and less worried about high MAT temperatures messing things up. I've been looking as some logs from an Evo with an exposed element filter, and IATs are much higher than ambient air temperature even when cruising down the road. His IATs are 15 deg F warmer than ambient (60F) when cruising, and the difference is even larger when the car is stationary.

I haven't done the closed loop wideband patch for that ROM. Its not needed for SD. Its just a tool to improve gas mileage.
This might be a stupid question, but when all the bugs are worked out will this patch be adapted by either ecuflash or Tephra?I have paypal ready for donations.
Also, will the patch have to be custom tuned to individual evos or will the specs you guys are using be universal? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

The bugs are worked out already. Its just a matter of tuning it to an individual's car. If you have a USDM Evo 9, then you can run the SD patch right now with a tephra 88590015 ROM or a regular 88590015 ROM. The basic steps are listed in my posting of the port to the 88590015 ROM.

1) Copy the new xml definitions from the zip file to your ECUFlash ROM xml file.
2) Launch ECUFlash and open your current (tephra) ROM and the stock patched ROM in the zip file.
3) In ECUFlash, copy the values in the new tables from the stock patched ROM to your (tephra) ROM.
4) Save your current (tephra) ROM and upload it to your ECU.
Assuming you've already done the JDM MAP and the GM IAT patches, then that's it. It works for a tephra ROM or a non-tephra ROM.

It does work with a tephra ROM. I think people are misunderstanding how to apply the SD patch. The patched ROM that I include in the zip file is not a tephra ROM, however the patch works fine with a tephra or non-tephra ROM. Here's how to apply the SD patch:
1) Copy the new xml definitions from the zip file to your ECUFlash ROM xml file.
2) Launch ECUFlash and open your current (tephra) ROM and the stock patched ROM in the zip file.
3) Copy the values in the new tables over from the stock patched ROM to your tephra ROM.
4) Save your current (tephra) ROM and upload it to your ECU.

if it is the same process as adding tephra's patch.....I do not see any of the sd stuff in the left column.....I must be doing this wrong
Do you have to put the other 2 patches in first for it to work? IF yes then there is my problem.

Its kinda the opposite of doing a tephra conversion. In a tephra conversion, all your tuned tables are copied over to the tephra ROM. For the SD patch, you copy all the SD tables over to your existing ROM. As I said, people are misunderstanding how to apply the SD patch.
Mr. Fred - if and when you've got time a patch to 96530006 would be great, I've got a few here now that have the MAP and IAT sensors installed and just awaiting the patch
As well as a 9417005 Evo, which I know your working on or will be soon.
Thanks as always
Quick question - would having the SD patch on a MAF tuned Evo effect anything? Meaning, if I'm tuning a MAF based car but, its a ROM ID that I've already implemented the SD patch into, will this effect the car if the MAT and MAP aren't installed or even if they are?
Thanks as always

mrfred/cossie,
Could you send over 90550001 patch (even it's beta) so I can test it for you guys too? I got IX 3bar map sensor and is logging correctly from tephra v10 mod (without calibration).

When the user goes in and changes the values in the tables is when the patch is applied.
