Mr. Fred - any progress on 94170005? I have one here now that I can test the SD patch along with the MAT patch on as it already has a X MAP sensor.

Also, does anyone have any good links for understanding VE tuning? I've honestly haven't had much experience with VE tuning and the experience I've had was quite sometime ago so I'd like to refresh myself on that.

The MAT patch is done. I've just been trying to consolidate all the MAT patch how-to's into a single instruction. I'll have it up today.

Posting some VE tuning tips is also on my list. :-)

Good to hear. I think I'll toss the MAT in the UICP for now so I can get to tuning.

You'll have to retune the VE curves if you move it to the IM later.

I'll have to retune anyway because once I get around to pulling the intake, I'll also be doing the cams+gears, tubular exhaust manifold, new exhaust, ported intake manifold+TB that I have sitting around.

I figure if I just toss it in th UICP, I'll at least get use to tuning it until then.

Don't waste your time with the tubular exhaust header. A ported stocker is just as good, if not better. I saw huge gains when I took off my megan and put on a ported stocker. Not to mention the exhaust tone will be much louder with a tube header.

Back on topic......

Is any dealers out there offering a package deal on the MAP and IAT sensors???

Going from a crap Megan mani to a true near equal length manifold like a JM Fabrications mani you WILL see gains over as ported stocker. I've done plenty of pulls between the two and have seen noticeable gains in not only spool up and mid-range power but, also in maximum output power wise. A properly engineered exhaust manifold is better than a stocker as I have data to show that. I too was a believer in the ported stocker of nearly anything else out there (except Full Race's) but, now that I've had JM Fab's one since they prototyped it on my personal car the benefits are obvious.

The only draw back is that a tubular weighs slightly more but, by only a few pounds.

Anyway, thanks for your hard work Mr Fred - now where's that tutorial

i can't seem to find the SD patch for 9417005 in the thread? Has it been posted yet? Also, it probably would make things easier if the patched ROMs available are posted in the first thread with instructions on porting the ROMs over - or a new thread be started with the patched ROMs instructions and a quick tutorial on VE tuning (hint, hint Mr Fred/jcsbanks), not to add to your work load or anything ;-)

I agree that all the links to the patched ROMs should be in the first post or perhaps start another thread. I was going to leave the option of doing that to jcsbanks since its his baby, but you're killing me if you can't find it in this thread:

The MAT sensor patch thread is here:

Sorry, I've been away on vacation. No problems with anyone writing anything, how-to etc, it is the forum's baby now, not mine I suppose this thread has become the development thread plus the release thread.

Since back from vacation, it has been about 20F warmer here than before, engine still running well, trims working well and tight.

I downloaded logworks 3 even though I have no Innovate products. You can take an Evoscan csv log and play with it in Excel to add the logworks config stuff to the top rows, then save it in .dif and load into logworks. I will post some screenshots in the next post from another computer...

Two images show the preparation of the Evoscan log file (Time heading changed, VE column calculated, logworks heading info inserted) and the table setup for the VE map display.
